Angola get ex-black stars coach

Brazilian Ismael Kurtz has been appointed new coach of Angola's national team, Palancas Negras. Kurtz, who took Ghana to the 1996 African Nations Cup has signed a one year contract, according to Angop, the Angolan press agency.

The appointment of Kurtz comes after last week's visit to Brazil by Justino Fernandes, head of Angola's Football Federation, Faf.

Angop said Kurtz will be the boss of current coaches Mario Calado and Jose Kilambe, both Angolans.

Kurtz is the third Brazilian to take charge of Palancas Negras after Djalma Calvacante and Antonio Clemente.

Under Calvacante, Angola won the Cosafa Castle Cup last year.
