The Argentinean, appointed on Monday, said despite a lack of knowledge of the African game he was convinced his side had the ability to qualify.

"Even though I have no experience of working in Africa, I am confident I will guide the team to the finals if I get all the support from the FA and the players," said the 1986 Argentine World Cup star.

"I will teach them at a professional level and want them to play high level football."

Pasculli, who holds a Diploma of coaching by Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio, said he planned to pass on skills and tactics that he learnt in the coaching school.

He added he was hopeful of building a firm foundation for Uganda with a professional approach.

Pasculli will take charge of Uganda for the remaining two games against Rwanda and Ghana, and also handle the U-23 team in the Olympic qualifying tie against Seychelles.

Depending on these results he will re-negotiate a new deal with the FA and his agent Albrieux Giacomo.

The 42-year old Argentine added that would be no problems with on-pitch communication, as he would be using signs.

Pasculli, who played for Argentina from 1984 to 1988, has previously been in charge of Serie B and C sides Nilano, Genoa, Calabria, Napoli and recently Lecce in Italy.
