When the Portuguese first came to the Gold Coast in 1492 they met a well organized Fante kingdom with a King named Nana Kwamina Ansah at Edina (the named the place El Mina which means the mine in Portuguese this became Elmina as we know it today). So it is not trus to state that the Fantes came to their present location in the 1800s. Total distortion of history.

Also its wrong to say Fante's came from Techiman. Techiman came about after the original Bono Manso was destroyed by the Asantes. They then relocated to present day Techiman. So if you say you are from Techiman then the writer could be right - hahaha.
Additionally, we need to pipe down on the Asante hate. We maybe related to Asante one way or the other.
E.g. Techimanhene and Asantehene are from the same family (Oyoko).
The appellation of Akyim Abuakwa, Ofinso, Ejiso, Manso Nkwanta and many of the Asona family ends with "Mankessim Nana ne me"
