    Anyway, "fatal" already means there's been a death. So simply say, "3 police officers die in accident". Also, how do you know they were gallant?

    Fatal does not necessarily mean there is record of death. Fatal means there has been serious damage. The damage can be to the vehicle, other objects or severe injuries to humans or death. Check the meaning of fatal in the ...

    You are right, but this particular accident was caused by a good road. The vehicle was on top speed and bursted a tire, so the driver lost control. The scene was very traumatic.
