University or college degrees alone will not make you financially secure. Only those who are prepared to be courageous, think outside the box by exploring opportunities, take sensible risks ,those prepared to work hard and patiently build up a business will do very well. People who have discovered these winning formulars can be found in every sphere of life and in every profession. These winners rarely rely only on their relatively poorly paying degree or qualification based professions . So you will find a teacher who has some honest side business (hopefully managed by a trustworthy and similarly industrious spouse). You will find a nurse running a taxi .You will find a physically challenge individual doing their best to work ,save and invest in spite of their physical limitations. These winners tend to economize and reinvest their profits so that they can further grow their businesses. They do not waste profits by spending it as fast as they earn it or try to impress others.

But that did not stop me from doing hotel cleaning work, factory jobs and volunteering part time whilst waiting on God to provide me with an opportunity in relation to my degree.
After 3yrs my volunteering paid off and did not have any debt accumulated because my cleaning and factory jobs took care of my expenses.
My biggest learning experience whivh i still apply today was in a factory that makes sandwich. How just 3 ingredients in a sabdwich can turn a sandwich into 5 different product lines.
Currently as a project manager ive applied my sandwich theory where just 2 activities to a project can lead to 5 or 6 other projects.
Using this theory currently have 4 Projects in my Portfolio a total of €2m with an income around €120,000.00 per annum. I can easily increase my projects to 6 but i want to enjoy a bit of my efforts and not be a slave to work.
What im trying to say here is that in that dry season when you think you are unemployed there is something you can do for society and you will learn sonething from that efforts. Dont consider any job as menial or small for your status. As lo g as it pays the bills, puts a roof over your head and kenkey and fish in your stomach whilst you plot your next move take it.
With a Law Degree i still worked making sandwich on the factory floor with those who had never stepped foot in a classroom. But that little income kept my mind, body and soul together and took the oppportunity to learn what i can learn.
Good luck to all in this situation of unemployed. After night there is always a day, after a dark cloud there comes bright sunny stars! Good luck!

Taking the self-employment route may be the best way for her.But the only self-employed people who succeed (most fail) are those who are very disciplined, those who take the trouble to research their area of interests to check if their ideas are feasible, those who have the patience and tenacity to endure the tough often painful process of building a successful business. Unfortunately most people fall by the way side long before they get anywhere near success. ONLY THE STRONG,PATIENT,DISCIPLINED,HARDWORKING MAKE IT. And guess what-It often has nothing to do with the degrees you have. You can have more degrees than a thermometer and still flop.

Any hardworking man or woman will make it if they have the drive, discipline ,courage and tenacity to make it. DON'T INJECT TRIBALISM HERE. There will always be some deluded people who think they are superior to others by virtue of their race, tribe or religion. THESE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE PROPAGATED WARS AND EVEN GENOCIDE.
