It is an understatement that all the Parties in Ghana take the Youths for granted, and have failed to adequately address the fears and aspirations of this bulging sector of our Electorate.
The CPP and the NPP are the worst culprits in this regard, as a matter of fact. The CPP has failed to modify substantially to attract the Youths, even though the visions of its founding Leader, Dr. Nkrumah seems to resonate well among the Youths. Not only do our Youths prefer a more honest group of Political leaders, they also prefer the least obvious association with the dark, violent and repressive past in our Politics.
Even though the youthful army of Deputy Ministers the Late President Mills appointed speaks to his intentions to invigorate the base of the Party with young blood, the seemingly unguided, little supervised puerile tantrums of many of those Deputy Ministers took away from the benefits of shoring up the ranks of the NDC with more Youths.
If the Youths are going to invited to show up more for any Party, they should be well-groomed to understand what is the best way for interacting with the Public, else they would all look like some hooliganistic bunch of rogues having a rowdy fun-time at a Party.
Surely, the seeming gerontocracy the author associated with the NPP is concerning. But I think the other Parties, too, have not done enough for the Electorate to trust the wishful predominance of the Youths at the helm of each Party's affairs, either.
All said, each Party ought to groom their Youths to take over, with the recognition that our modern generations would rather not play the old, dirty, corrupt and violent Politics of the past.
The Party that does best in mobilizing the Youths both in numbers and in the demand for quality behavior and professional proficiency would capture the most votes, going forward.
Long Live Ghana!!

I meant to say:
1). "..the VISIONS of its founding Leader, Dr. Nkrumah SEEM to resonate..
2). "If the Youths are going to BE invited to show up more.."
3). "..each Party ought to groom ITS Youths to take over.."

Who knows? the opposition could still run a very very poor campaign like they just did and hand an easy victory to the NDC even if the NDC use clever PR

Clever PR will not win NDC power in 2016, but so will NPP! Maybe it will be time for CPP,
