Prez Mahama to deliver state-of-the nation address today

President John Dramani Mahama will today deliver the state-of-the nation address in Parliament, the last for the Mills/Mahama administration.

The address, the fifth for the government since January 7, 2009, comes a day before the dissolution of the House.

Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution stipulates that "The Parliament shall, at the beginning of each session of Parliament and before the dissolution of Parliament, deliver to Parliament a message on the state of the nation."

The address is expected to recount the performance of the government in the last four years.

The focus will be on the economy, infrastructure development, human resource, agriculture, education, health and good governance.

The President is also expected to touch on the performance of the oil sector and Ghana's foreign policy.
