Let all Ghanaian workersdemand housing allowance especially those who are working at regions where they are not from or overthrow this government. This is pure robbery. These fools earn $45,000 a year, free car loans, per diem and end of term bonuse of $45,000 in a poor country like Ghana. Whe4n are Ghanaians going to stop this Politicians stealing?

These are exactly my thoughts. MPs are people of a special class? Are they more hard working than the medical Officers, Are they more hard working than the University lecturers? Even the teachers in the Primary and Secondary schools also work hard. What kind of nonsense is this. Who asked them to stand election for MPs? Are they in Parliament to serve themselves? And a poor country like Ghana, they want to live well above their counterparts in other countries that have more money than Ghana but would not give such fantastic allowances. The rent allowance is not mentioning others, their fat salaries, free cars, free fuel for their cars, their drivers are paid huge sums from state coffers this is also not mentioning their harem. Then ex gratia at the end of their service. Apa. Ghanaians will have to do something otherwise by 2016 MPs will use ALL THE REVENUE IN GHANA TO PAY THEMSELVES and mind you they will find ways and means of paying themselves.

Are MPs the only workers in Ghana? And how special are they as this greedy ex-MP is claiming. Does it make sense to increase their rent by whopping margin of 60 percent? If so, how much increment is the govt giving workers in the other sectors. Funny enough, since we went democratic 1992, hasn't successive govts seen the need to provide permanent accommodation for MPs. Abaa! Can't this amount be used as seed money to contract housing company to build nice houses for MPs to save Ghana future cost. Anyway, let it be so because, callous govts will come and sell them again. If after the term of 4 years an MP is relected, he could retain his accommodation. If not he leaves to find his own accommodation.
What is being done now is to rather enrich landlords who might have these MPs as tenants.

Our MPs should remember that they are here to serve us and not to exploit us.
They should stay in their constituencies and come to Accra only to do government business, and be paid sensible daily allowances.
Our MPs and ministers should learn to serve, be humble and live in modesty.

All animals are equal but some are more equal than others. What makes MPs different? 7200+50000 = continue to widen the gap between the poor and the rich. Do african politicians think about the welfare of the people they claim to care for. I suggest that Monies paid to MPs should be a percentage of the minimum salary in public office. This way, they will tend to give a second thought to monies they request for. By the way, what makes an MP different from the Ghanaian who equally works hard in a different capacity for the development of the nation. Lets put the development of mother ghana and the people we serve first; Not the monetary gains.

The Presidential Palace is there, but he chose to live by example so other Uruguayan will follow his foot steps. It is reported that under his leadership, Uruguay has become known for low levels in corruption and the country is ranked as the second least corrupt country in Latin America in Transparency International's global corruption index.
It is reported that the President has no bank accounts, no debts and enjoys the companionship of his dog, Mauela. Can we learn something from this industrous son of Uruguay? Hell not from a Ghanaian politician - even the head takes eggs from the chicken coop.
