Pratt even recommended Baako to be killed by the regime, thank God Baako was instead touchered violently and severely but his life was spared. This is what Kwasi Prat can do. Now Pratt is a secret agent to NDC and US Embassy in Ghana. May God forgive Prat and spare him the untold evils that will come upon him and his generations. NPP now want to rule Ghana by tradition and not the constitution? This is sad and for the first time, I am beginning to have doubt about NPP's understanding of the rule of law and democracy. There is no question on the legitimacy of President Mahama as far as the Constitution is concerned. Mahama is the legitimate President of Ghana until the Supreme Court decides otherwise. He only becomes illegitimate if he continues to be President from the day the Supreme Court rules that he was not properly elected. Until then, he is legitimate and there is nothing NPP can about that because the Constitution says so.
NPP should know that is not Ghana is not a monarchy and the Presidency is not a paramount stool but a constitutional democracy. The Constitution is the supreme law of the land, so Jake should not compare apples with oranges.
Though the party is challenging the legitimacy of the President, the constitution recognised him as legitimate, so NPP's claim that he is illegitimate is wrong and probably unconstitutional.
Why will NPP participate in other parliamentary business such as debating bills, budget and agreements? Are these not from the Executive so if you do not recognise the President who leads the Executive, by NPP MPs participating in such business, are they not recognising that the Executive is legitimate? How can the Executive be legitimate but the President is not?
The statement is nothing but senseless contradictions. NPP should go and study the Ghanaian constitution, ask for a better interpretation and application and stop using tradition to resolve 21st century constitutional difficulty. Jake, Sir John and Nana Akufo Addo are making mockery of themselves. They are leading the party astray and it could dangerous for the future of the party.

The fact that John Mahama is the President of Ghana is constitutionally undisputed. He was sworn in by the pro-NPP chief justice. NPP members are only daydreaming because the very electoral commission that illegitimately declared John Mahama the President was the same commission that legitimately declared its MPs as winners. They are just confused. They are joining in debating budget because of their salaries, allowances and other emoluments. The reality is that the national executive committee members are not MPs, therefore, I'm not surprised that the Minority Leader himself said they were to reconsider their boycott of the vetting. This clearly shows a divergence of thoughts between the MPs and those outside parliament. In fact, left onto the MPs alone, they would have taken part. Any way, NDC does not require any contributions of theirs to govern Ghana.

Does this mean NPP does not respect the laws of the land? My understanding as a layman is that, for now, Mahama is legitimate until the Supreme Court proves him otherwise after a verdict on NPP's petition against him. He was sworn into office by the CHIEF of the Justices of the Supreme Court of Ghana. It is only fair and understandable that NPP follows the lay down laws by respecting the presidency prior to SC final verdict. If the SC nullifies Mahama's declaration as president then they can cease to recognise him as president. It sounds like they are already defying the actions of the Supreme Court (CJ swearing in Mahama) whom they have approached for redress. Just too many U-turns and indecisions on the part of the NPP.

It is imperative and compulsory for Mr.Humado to put rice on the market because he is being paid by the Ghanaian citizens and tax-payers. The NPP members are Ghanaian citizens first, before becoming NPP Parliamentarians.

Parliamentary or Cabinet system of government( Britain ) is different from the Presidential or Executive system of government(USA ).
In Britain, the Executive members or cabinet ministers are all members of parliament (MPs) just like the The Prime-minister, who is the Head of The Executive. You cannot be a minister if you are not a member of parliament.
In The Presidential system, as practiced in the USA and Ghana, the President is not a member of parliament. He is the Head of the Executive and appoints members to form his executive or his ministers. They are all appointed outside the Parliament. If a member of Parliament is chosen by the President to be a Minister, that member of parliament should resign his position in parliament. These ministers are responsible to the president who appointed them.
This is the reason why the NPP is not participating in the 'vetting the appointed ministers' because they are responsible to the President, whose status is being questioned by them.

I wonder who is in charge as NPP flounders around. I know Jake is not a lawyer and his education is suspect so if matters are left in his hands NPP is in trouble. Consider even their claim of 1.3 million illegal votes. The claim is that there were 900,000 over votes and 400,000 voted without biometric verification. Does it mean that the 900,000 voted with biometric verification? How can they be over-voting if they were verified? The 400,000 that voted without biometric verification, are they part of the 900,000? If so, are they not double counting?
NPP actions so far and their inconsistency in their claims would indicate that they do not know what they are doing. I believe they went to court with the hope that some justices may be sympathetic to their cause and rule in their favour. That, my friend, would cause utter chaos in the country.

The NPP's explanations offered in defense of why their Elected Members of Parliament are not participating in the on-going vetting of Ministerial Appointees is the most illogical reasoning of our time! This is more so, when the Party has given the indication that they would be participating in Budget discussions and others. The issue is would it not be the Budget proposals from the same President?
In any case, how can the NPP overlook this simple basic Principle in Law;- an Accused Person is considered innocent until proven guilty. Which court in Ghana has declared the election of President Mahama as null and void to warrant this unprincipled stance of the NPP?

The issue on hand is very confusing to the NPP leadership and being imposed on their MPs and supporters. Sumise to say that these MPs have no right to accept their salaries since they resufe to accept the legitimacy of the President and all actions are taken on behalf of the President from all national institutions. The areas of participation as mentioned by them are all activities to be initiated by the President and they refuse to accept this President. The most honest thing they can do is to refuse their salaries as part of their decision. This is very important and they should refuse any salary or allowances due to them since all these originate from the Presidency who is empowered to approve of all payments to them. The leadership of the NPP knows the right thing to do but are making a fool of all their MPs. I cannot believe that these so called leaders are behaving this way. What they need to know is that should the Supreme Court rule in their favour - which is highly unlikely - that does not mean that Nana Addo becomes the President. In a worst case scenerio there may be the need for a run off election. They know of this and are just fooling their supporters who are legally ilittrates.

Pity they are led by Jake, a school dropout, whose presence on the national scene is based on his pedigree, being the son of an anarchist and bomb thrower. Jake has seized national property and he has single handedly ruined Panafest by trying to replace it with his nonsensical "Joseph Project" which he lacks the intellectual background to understand that he could not misalign Black history with Jewish history. He is too ignorant to grasp the uniqueness of each experience.
Now he's strutting about like an ostrich thinking that he could display his blousy and flossy feathers over the national arena. What a genius!

NPP taut itself as democratic, lawful, abiding by the rule of law etc., but like all political reactionaries, their actions speak for themselves. Have they conveniently forgotten the legal principle of "innocent until proven guilty"? President Mahama has been sworn in as President of Ghana, by the CHIEF JUSTICE he is therefore the only legitimate President in Ghana at the moment, all must respect that. Now they are not only questioning the legality of the declaration of EC but also the swearing in of the president by the Chief Justice.
What business do they have sending their case to the Supreme Court, which has to be empanelled by the Chief Justice, the same person whose previous action they do not recognise?
NPP should thread carefully. They are exposing the absurdity of their situation.

Chairman, what happens to those of us party-less Ghanaians who voted for our MPs based on our belief that they can better represent us regardless of their party affiliations?
Don't you think that may be you should also consider us in your consultations as we voted based on what we believe are the competence of our delegates to parliament?
Are you now saying floating voters don't matter so long as they may have different principles from yours?
Now that we know your principle is to hold NPP higher than Ghana, some of us will know what to do with our votes the next time. Mind you I have enough votes in my household that can make a great difference in terms of numbers come 2016 and I bet those votes will only go to any competent party other than NPP that puts Ghana first...... This is my Principle so think about it.
Thank you

I advice all those civil societies and NDC protege and symphatisers to leave NPP leadership to continue their good fight to serve as a precident for future leaders and unborn generation. Pioneers of democracy like Arisotle ,Plato, and Socrates,to name but a few might be kicking their coffins and graves. In other parts of the world if a politician feels developments are in conflict what he/she holds dear, he/she severs links with the status quo by resigning ON MATTERS OF PRINCIPLE but this does not seem to hold good in Africa.
By calling into question the veracity of the presidential votes cast and that for parliamentary constituencies, the NPP is effectively imputing the illegitimacy of the process and that being the case, as a matter of principles, it should not take part in anything which is a culmination of the electoral process. It is thus confusing for it to pick and choose in deliberations, the result of the electoral process.
Despite its reservations, its parliamentarians were sworn in, they are going to be remunerated by virtue of being parliamentarians. In spite of these, they are not ready to perform some of the activities which are part of the totality of their core functions. Does no work no pay not apply to parliamentarians just like other salaried employees?
A glaring oversight of those who drew the constitution was to have made remunerations dependent on input. Failure to put in sufficiently should have had a corresponding effect income at the end of the month. This will surely weed out some of the men and women who enter parliament for the glory of the position and conclude their tenure without even a hopeless contribution to the work of the House.
