Whoever put this idiot in this position. A book log to determine when a bus leaves and when it arrives at it's destination as a way of checking speed? This sounds like ab 18th century technology. Is that all this Executive Director can do? Use radar detectors and other modern gadgets to get the drivers in the act.

THE BIGGEST CAUSE OF ROAD ACCIDENTS IN GHANA POSIT ON THE KIND AND TYPE OF ROAD NETWORKS WE HAVE.
ROAD ACCIDENTS ARE ATTRIBUTABLE TO THE SINGLE-LANE ROADS WE HAVE ACROSS THE COUNTRY AND NOT SPEEDING.
LET THE MINISTER TAKE A CLOSE LOOK AT ACCRA-KUMASI ROAD AND TELL THE WHOLE WORLD THAT THE CAUSE OF ROAD ACCIDENTS IS SPEEDING OTHER THAN LACK OF DUAL CARRIAGE ROAD NETWORKS I THE COUNTRY.
THE MAHAMAH ADMINISTRATION HAS LAUDABLE POLICY OF CARRYING OUT MASSIVE DEVELOPMENT ON ROADS AND I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE MANIFESTATION OF THAT VISION.
YES! SPEEDING IS A BIG PROBLEM, FULLY AWARE THAT MOST GHANAIAN DRIVERS ARE VERY NAIVE IF NOT STUPID TO UNDERSTAND THE NATURE OF OUR ROADS TO APPLY COMMON SENSE DRIVING AND SLOW DOWN.

"Excessive speeding is the leading cause......" I beg to differ sir.I passionately believe bad colonially constructed roads is to blame for the most part.Sir, have you ever thought about Ghana constructing two super Dual Carriage Ways...one from AFLAO to ELLUBO and the other from Accra to PAGA through KUMASI. Other secondary roads may then be made to link these super high.ways.. I believe this will do the trick for most part.

They do not have statistics that speed is 60% of the cause of road accidents. How do we know if it is from brake failure or bad roads. they made the same noise about mobile phones as the major cause of accidents and a law was put in place instead of promoting hands free devices. I think accidents are caused by lack of common sense. Drivers do not know when to speed and when to slow down or when to overtake and when not to overtake.

Woman: Is there a problem, Officer?
Officer: Ma'am, you were speeding.
Woman: Oh, I see.
Officer: Can I see your license please?
Woman: I'd give it to you but I don't have one.
Officer: Don't have one?
Woman: Lost it 4 times for drunk driving.
Officer: I see...Can I see your vehicle registration papers please.
Woman: I can't do that.
Officer: Why not?
Woman: I stole this car.
Officer: Stole it?
Woman: Yes, and I killed and hacked up the owner.
Officer: You what?
Woman: His body parts are in plastic bags in the trunk if you want to see.
The Officer looks at the woman, slowly backs away to his car, and calls for back up. Within minutes 5 police cars circle the car. A senior officer slowly approaches the car, clasping his half drawn gun.
Officer 2: Ma'am, could you step out of your vehicle
please!
The woman steps out of her vehicle.
Woman: Is there a problem sir?
Officer 2: One of my officers told me that you have stolen this car and murdered the owner.
Woman: Murdered the owner?
Officer 2: Yes, could you please open the trunk of your car, please.
The woman opens the trunk, revealing nothing but an empty trunk.
Officer 2: Is this your car, ma'am?
Woman: Yes, here are the registration papers.
The first officer is stunned.
Officer 2: One of my officers claims that you do not have a driving license.
The woman digs into her handbag and pulls out a clutch purse and hands it to the officer. The officer snaps open the clutch purse and examines the license. He looks quite puzzled.
Officer 2: Thank you ma'am, one of my officers told me you didn't have a license, that you stole this car, and that you murdered and hacked up the owner.
Woman: Betcha the lying bastard told you I was speeding too.

Yes over speeding is one of the main causes of road accidents.Checking excessive speeding for PUBLIC TRANSPORT OPERATORS requires SPEED LIMIT DEVICE installed on our Public Transport services.Device will limit vehicle to a speed limit pre-programmed Electronically on it.Let me remind my friend that ALL vehicle manufactured 1996 in europe have on board COMPUTERS to monitor RUNNING of the vehicle including the speed of the vehicle to a stopping state. Tacos can be used on public transport vehicle but not on my CAR.NRSC problem is allowing vehicles not WORTHY on any road into the country. Severally of these vehicles are salvaged from scrap yards and without SAFETY test. The problem is compounded by the heavy duty at the port of entry and thus breeding corruption in the whole system.I had rather salvage a bus which cost nearly nothing and only pay for the CIF ,HDV, PENALTY,plus DUTY.This is the cause high death rate on our ROADS.
