Through the ages Akans established various kingdoms from the Mesopotamia to Kush, Egypt, Nubia and on to the formation of the Ghana Empire and Akan Kingdoms in West Africa today. The ancient Ghana empire (present day southeastern Mauritania and western Mali) was the final settlement of the Akan people before migrating to present day Ghana and Ivory Coast. We are the founders of the Ghana empire and not settlers. The Ghana empire was the first West-African kingdom and the richest kingdom on earth at that time.The invasion of the Amoravid brought the Islamic religion. The invasion and the forced imposition of Islam, made our ancestors resist the newcomers, since they refused to accept Islam and wanted to keep their Akan religion. After heavy warfare, they moved to present day Ghana and Ivory Coast in order to avoid constant warfare and to get the peace needed for their farming ventures.

First I take on the reporter. Why did he fail to quote the portions of the interview where Prof. Frimpong categorically stated that the late president was "impelled" to stay in office?

Second, if the story is true, why does Prof. Frimpong think this is the right time to bring his opinion out? What does he, or the nation, stand to gain by "revealing" the plot to make a sick president remain in office?

Third, Prof. Frimpong is quoted as saying that “…if he (Mills) had the strength of mind, character as I’m saying, I think he would have done a good job but…he had serious limitations.” By this, does he imply that the ailment had dulled his strength and mind to the extent that it was difficult for the late President to choose between remaining in office and going home to take care of himself?

We need to be serious in this country.

It was sad that people in Ghana would do anything for their parochial interest including telling the President whatever sounded good to his ears against his personal interest and that of the nation to keep him in the castle. This is a disservice to this nation from such a person I admire so much. Prof. Frimpong Boateng could request an invitation from Prof. Mills without hesitation from the latter. We all recall the former president putting himself forward for primary elections to be the flag bearer of his party. Is Prof. Frimpong Boateng suggesting that somehow his subordinates forced him to do all that? Surely as a physician himself, if he went through the president's medical history, he would agree with me that he had a long history of illness which he apparently bore with dignity.

What about all those numerous check ups in the US? Was all that done under the instruction or instigation of his staff or political colleagues? Prof. I think you are wrong on that score. Why do you think nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings tried and so woefully failed in her bid against him?

She gambled on the predication that he would probably not make it to the next election in which case if she had a very good showing against him in the primaries, then she and her faction in the NDC would use that as leverage to push a claim for her as flag bearer. Let us be objective Prof.

now i'm saying that u must have known from ur interaction with him that he was approachable, so why didn't u mildly ask him 2 slow down a bit, even to recommend some of the best professionals anywhere to him? the good prof would have taken it in good faith! Besides, his younger brother was his doctor, i hear, so are u suggesting that his brother teamed up with those persons to push him? finally, how can those u will not name, suddenly metamorphose into ndc?
