Therefore if the National Security Coordinator, Gbevlo Lartey is saying that "if the exporters were indeed exporting gold, why did they go for such a documentation saying that these are rock samples and that they are for laboratory purposes only and that they have no commercial value?” should tells us that the said consignment was shipped without the knowledge of the PMMC and the appropriate taxes not paid on it to the state. For them to declare on the documents that the consignment are rock samples for laboratory purposes but Turkish authorities says it is Gold should tell us that taxes have been evaded and there is something very fishy going on. We need more answers from the PMMC and the govt.

If you check www.pmmcghana.com, you will realise among others that rule 4 of the PMMC's guidelines for buyeers indicate that "All exports, except for direct license holders, of gold and diamonds are done by the Precious Minerals Marketing Company Limited on behalf of sellers/suppliers to overseas buyers’ destinations, after inspection and sealing by the Ghana Customs Service."

This implies that bigtime buyers/licensed operators do not need to go through the PMMC to export their product.

Unlike what is thought, it's not very complex to sell gold in Ghana. Our laws are not restrictive. What I suspect in this deal is that someone wanted to pull a fast one on tax issues, and with the level of corruption in the system, it is easy to do.

To have the office of the presidency ( and all the special assistants at his beckon call) and a BNI with investigative tools and staff come out and give Ghanaians a bunch of nonsensical explanation is not only a slap in the face but a sign of chaotic government not knowing its right hand from the left hand is it took either hand s to save a life.
How in heaven's name would a judge on Ghana's judiciary bench render a decision on a transaction with the kind of monetary value and involving the quantity of gold commodity and when the government is pressed on details would not get the facts straight? It does not amaze me the least that Ghana is slowly being taken to the cleaners by a class and collection of educated and political elite who were born, trained and schooled to be thieves and yet have a Ghanaians society and or community here at home and in the Diaspora who sees in some of these thieving families as political royalty/dynasties.
If a company has a license to trade in gold then they purchased the gold (pure or fake) from somewhere or someone in Ghana. If the gold (pure or fake) left Ghana's airport and was signed off by the appropriate agencies then how the heck would this Mahama government not collect needed information before making a fool of himself, his administration and Ghanaians? If this is the best NDC government can do to bring back the murderous J.J. Rawlings into the NDC family fold then NDC like NPP are no better than our colonial masters; The NDC and NPP are using the black faces and skin to enslave every Ghanaian alive now and those yet unborn by engaging in the collection of debts that are bound to come due. Selling Ghana to China is not my style or choice of independence neither is Chinese running anything of value in Ghana or the Indian government and its people becoming our lords and masters my daily cup of tea.

Also you are right to ask whether"there any law that you cannot export your property outside?" but once again note exports or imports are subject to the laws of the land.
Even in the land of the free USA I cannot just wake up one day and ship or export a sophisticated to equipment to say China or Russia if the USA government deems it a risk to the USA(EVEN THOUGH I MAY HAVE USED MY OWN RESOURCES TO DEVELOP THE PRODUCT.

There has never been a government for ever. Good and wise Ghanaians will close on the bad ones and dubious activities will be corrected and culprits punished.
