It is true that the NDC is full of buffoons. It is true that the AMA is hopelessly inept and incompetent. It is true that the Ghana Police Service has outlived its usefulness and is now merely a dangerous tool in the hands of equally incompetent politicians across board.
The best solution to the present circumstances is that those traders should be compensated if truly, their claim to that land is found to be legitimate.
Ghana and indeed Accra, our much abused capital city, cannot be held to ransom forever by the backward whims of rural people who freely walk into the capital city and do not know the difference between a toilet bowl and and a kitchen sink.
If this country wants to proceed into the 21st century, we cannot continue to have messy situations like the typical dirty, smelly and chaotic disorderliness of an African market right plumb in the business district of the city.
If we had men who had balls in-between their legs as Presidents and Mayors, the right option of moving all these filthy markets out of the city center into the local communities and peri-urban areas of the cities of Ghana would be effected without brooking nonsense from those who want to reduce our hard earned values to their level of no values.
If that particular area called Kantamanto is not a designated market area on the official site plan of Accra, we dont need to please anybody, the traders should be compensated if their claims are genuine and evacuated soonest. Nobody owes them anything else. Pussy-footing with obstructive and unmanageable social groups with anarchist tendencies, whose only interest is selfish self-interest, will only compromise our much-needed and belated development process.
Going around Accra, one is saddened by the mess, the chaos, the pervading indiscipline and the incomprehensible level of official disorganization. This is one of the reasons why some are advocating for a coup d'etat in this country.
Political Parties will never ever be able to clean up the mess that our country has degenerated into. It has been caused by them in the first place. Their prime interest is to simply hang on to power by pandering to the whims of people like the Kantamanto traders and pampering people who can manipulate them so that they continue to vote for them to win elections or to stay in power. Meanwhile our country is fast sliding into the stone-age.

If citizens who needs the protection of the security is fighting and throwing objects at the national security, their(security) will have no option than to fire back in order to restore calm and respect of the law! Thank God the Ghana police are up-to-date enough to use robber bullets! In some african countries, life bullets are used to disperse those who take the law in to their hands. The courts are there to resolve our problems but if anyone wants to address his problem their way he finds it fit, let him or her go ahead, but when he or she encounter difficulties of this nature, let him or her keep it to herself! Let us begin to call spade, spade! Enough of these!

For the police to fire at traders is not surprising at all. This is no different from what Mills police did when he was deceiving himself as a fit man. In the same manner, the fisher folks having realize their foolishness in voting for Mills begun to complain about hardship on the sea amidst premix shortages, rising cost of fishing gears at the time, inability to care for their poor families and absence of ready market even for their scanty catch. They had put all their hopes that Mills will make it better than Kuffour even though, they had their supplies more frequently and adequate. what happened next? They begun to raise concerns about continuous failures of Mills to address their concerns. Mills turned deaf eyes to these fisher folks. they decided to hit the streets to Osu castle, for they knew that, if Mills was such death to hear, at least he could see them at the castle gate. Ahh, it was a sad story by all moral standards. The Mill police which council chairman was John Dumsor Drossman Mahama, mounted a full operation on the wailing fisher folks including women. They heated saline water beyond 100 degrees Celcious; hot enough to peel of metal surface, a physical condition known as pyrolysis and then directed the cannons to the center of demonstrating poor fishing individuals while heavens watched with agony, sprrrrayed the blazing water on them without a dint of mercy. Mills was then having good time watching this inhumane acts of the forces he commands and laugh at the left corner of his mouth. He then tell the fishermen whose scalded skins dropped in pieces due to the burns; hon ara hon ye ungrateful. eben adze na hon pe. Meka de adze wo ofi a, na ono nkyere de nara nyen. Aye hard de ara. Hon mbullshit koraa.
So imposter president drosmman mahama continues. Do we deserve this? We failed to think when we had the opportunity on last Dec 7. Kanatamanto traders, pray that Nana wins the case, else Chinese may own where you suffered to build. Period.

Ghanaian markets need face uplift, they need to be reconstructed to befit the modern markets; in the new market, provisions could be made for police station, proper toilets, fire exits and proper pavement for fire service personnels and their cars and even pharmacies. Why do we the blacks want to prevent anything that is good, after which we turn round to blame government or others for our failure? Don't these traders know that everything in Ghana belongs to the state? If not why call fire service personnels when there is fire outbreak? Or call on government to do something about a situation, when we want to do things our own way! It is uncivil to be protesting when the government want to bring development! Why should the traders fight the security personnel? Where on earth is that allowed? It is a shame and we certainly have to educate ourselves on how things work in the modern society! In the name freedom Ghanaians are now exaggerating with everything!

These people do not want our country to progress. All they want to do is sit their lazy asses in one location hoping someone will buy all their junk, don't pay taxes, don't pay rent, but always making demands on government.
These people are very lucky that for years, their kind have always been in power. Sympathizing with these ****.
Me, I have no worries, because for years I have been advocating for the total erasing of all open market places in the capital, including those tro-tro and taxi stations.

There appears to be a loss of confidence on the part of the traders in AMA. Government should lean on AMA to restore confidence in the traders. This can only be achieved by the traders being told the truth, but not just what they want to hear, while perhaps other things to the contrary are planned behind their backs. It is all down to the fear in the traders that they will loose ownership of the market. I guess they are only asking to be shown "THE MONEY", ie AMA means what it is promising. The shooting incidence regrettable) tells me, in today's Ghana if you cannot get your way, you use "WHAT EVER MEANS NECESSARY". Viz action by the police, the traders, and Lawyer 'SHUT UP YOUR FACE', etc.
