I think this Kwako Baah guy is block headed or playing fool. At the time that Ghana's economy is about 36 billion dollars, we can not sink bore holes that would cost only 2.2 million cedis for our people except with the help of a company that takes billions of dollars from the public purse fraudulently and unchecked. These are all bribes for tax evasions and fraudulent judgement debts.

Kweku Baako finds this reprehensible bribe offering initiative faultless? Damn!!!!!! I am gobsmacked.
I am now convinced that Kweku Baako is politically unstable. I will finally admit that he has effectively become a stomach politician. He is just like Sekou Nkrumah. I cant really figure out if it is age or personal benefits which have beclouded his once fine mind but whatever the case, he has tragically lost it. Due! Due! Damirifa Due!
Kweku Baako has drifted from the admirable posture of an exemplary nationalist activist into the vulgar criminal doldrums of the far-right money-idolizing cult in just two generations. What a damned pity.
Does Kweku Baako not know that as per our constitution, Parliamentarians are not development agents? Why didnt that upstart crook not channel his dubious assistance through the appropriate state agencies like the District Assemblies, the Ministry of Works, the Ghana Water Co. or even the traditional Authorities or any of the so-called NGO's?
At the very least, that impetuous little crook could have contracted a bore-hole company to quietly undertake the job without all the fanfare and political hullabaloo, if indeed his wish to assist the Ghanaian public was genuine and of a purely charitable nature.
Why is it that Agambire has also offered another huge benevolent award to the PRINPAG (Private Newspapers Ass). Isnt this obviously because he wants to muzzle the private press who are the last line of defense and attack simultaneously - the only institution left that can effectively expose him? One does not need to even be a grade C student to see through the guys shenanigans.
Over and above everything else, who is funding and directing this moron? Under the circumstances in which we find ourselves, I dont really mind anymore if people work hard and do some cheating along the way, but in this instance, where is this guy getting all this money from? And what is or are the ulterior motives? This is what is worrying. He has clearly been set up and is being manipulated for some murky objectives.

Mr Kofi Baako has shown a total lack of judgement and naivety over this issue. Rlg's borehole offer is laudable but our MPs should not allow Rlg to carry out its agenda on the back of Parliament. Our MPs have a responsibility to be ethical and transparent to preserve the integrity of Parliament. Involving the country's MPs is inappropriate and at worst, a subtle form of 'bribery'.
Rlg could have pursued its corporate social responsibility/philanthropic offer to the various constituencies in a straightforward way. Given the political backlash over Rlg's involvement in the SADA project this offer comes across as a 'bargain' of which most of the MPs have to reciprocate in a likely event of any probe or awards of contract. We must not lose sight of the bigger picture!

In the US or UK, political donations are returned to the donors long afterwards if the donor is found to have been engaged in one vice or the other frowned upon by the law. It is possible that the Agaams Group made the offer in anticipation of the fallout. Under the law, the district assemblies are the vehicle for development in the areas not the MPs. If the offer is genuine, it should have been made to the MMDAs directly not MPs. Even the MPs common fund are channeled through the assemblies. I cannot understand why Kweku Baako does not see anything wrong with this bribery in terms. Time is of no essence here. Intention is the driving factor.

Kwaku Baako, as for this, you are way off the mark! Whether the RLG offer was made before or after the nkomfem saga makes no difference. A bribe may be paid before or after the deed for which the donor is soliciting consideration. For all we know, RLG may have made the offer in anticipation of the nkomfem project. Or they may be making it now to influence opinion and judgement on the current mess that is surrounding the AGAAMS group.
If indeed the PAC is still chasing the intended sponsorship after all that we know about RLG and the AGAAMS group now, I would recommend that the PAC themselves be investigated! No sane person should compomise the government's position now by entering into any dealings with the AGAAMS group until the current situation has been well investigated and dealt with conclusively.

I beg to disagree with you on this one Kwaku. It is not for RLG to lobby for projects through parliament as part of their corporate social responsibility. I listened to your submissions with respect to the projects that RLG had proposed to tackle; ie the issue of water during their meeting last year or two thereabouts on newsfile, and I must say that, in view of the nature of the work that our legislature has been tasked to do by our constitution, ranging from regulation and to the enactment of laws, to protect the citizenry from covert and overt acts, initiated by the executive as well as the business community, being two examples, there is a measure of impropriety that can be exacted by this measure from RLG, which frowns on appropriate standards of conduct.
RLG being the company that it is, needn't go to parliament to seek to get all 275 members of parliament to undertake a corporate social project that it has by their own mechanisms identified, "unless of course, the taxpayer's money or funds has been appropriated in this sense to execute the very project". What prevents RLG from going to the communities so identified, and liaising with the various chiefs to provide the said benefit, in this case water? There are a lot of companies and needless to say, individuals, who have undertaken such similar projects, based on a need they have identified in the various communities in which they operate and have taken steps to address these needs, without necessarily resorting to members of parliament of the 275 constituencies. In my opinion, RLG's offer was inappropriate, lacked the standards of good conduct with respect to the sanctity of the legislature to conduct itself above reproach vis-à-vis business entities, for whom malfeasance could be brought against and generally, good ethical standards expected of our business community.
