We must not discount the contribution of Dr Joseph Boakye Danquah, the rest of the big six and others. Danquah's work the "Akan laws and customs and the constitution of Akim (Akyem) Abuakwa" convinced the Educated Africans, the British and the world at large that the people of Ghana (Gold Coast) were ready for self government.

As one of the few African members of the legislative assembly he vehemently opposed the British decision to setup only one university for British West Africa in Nigeria. His action led to the decision to setup the University of Ghana - Legon.

All this was before Nkrumah came to the scene. But we must also not forget the immense contribution Nkrumah made.

IT IS REALLY A BIG DEAL FOR A PERSON TO BE THE CREATOR OF ANY COUNTRY'S FLAG. MRS OKOH HAS BEEN MARGINALIZED AND SIDE-LINED FOR TOO LONG. I BET IF SHE WAS FROM ANY MAJOR ETHNIC GROUP, SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN HONORED NATIONALLY BY NOW. THE FLAG OF ANY COUNTRY IS THE SYMBOL OF INDEPENDENCE. SO HOW CAN WE CELEBRATE 5O YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE WITHOUT EVEN MENTIONING THE GHANA FLAG AND ITS CREATOR !!!. THIS ABERRATION CAN ONLY TAKE HAPPEN IN GHANA !!!!
