If we have the likes of Rawlings who took delight in murdering and molesting many people and refuses to show remorse and apologize but boast about it,how can people forgive?
Most decent fair minded Ghanaians would like to put behind them the damages and crimes inflicted on our country by our so called leaders headed by Rawlings but their continued celebration of June 4th and Dec 31st nonsense which only remind people of their pains and lost, make it hard for us to forgive and forget.
Here we are after some fifty years of so called independence and yet we haven't been able to even construct a first class dual carriage way to link our two major cities.
We can forgive when we see signs of our leaders doing something good to change our country for the better.
Please Mr God's man tell all both present and past who have toiled with our country to come to public and apologize. No exemptions for none of them have done good service to the country Ghana.

I am a true believer of freedom of speech but i think before responding to other people's comment/article,one takes time to understand and analyse especially where the welfare and interest of our country is at stake.
What the two contributors are saying is far from your accusation of them passing judgement on anyone but the truth.
It's the like of you and your refusal to listen to the truth which makes our country to remain in decline.Lets debate reasonably and fairly for our country faces a daunting task.

I haven`t seen a nation, where there is no respect for humans like Ghana. We don`t even respect our own life, let alone respect each other.
We should learn to respect, because if we respect ourselves we shall respect everything, including properties.
Because of lack of respect,we lack the spirit of maintainance,so we allowe everything we own as a nation to decay.
Just take a look of our roads, hospitals, schools, stadiums. We build and allowe it to decay, because we don`t appreciate and respect what we have.
Forgiveness is personal.

There is nothing more liberating than the act of forgiving. It manumits us from the shackles of hate and its concomitant depression and heartburns. The problem is that some wiseacres mistake the act of forgiving as weakness. The recalcitrant see it as an opportunity to pounce on a “weakling”. Rawlins orchestrated the killing and maiming of numerous innocent Ghanaians. Decades later, under tremendous public pressure, the Dzelokope butcher rendered a pseudo apology to the families of the annihilated individuals. Years later, the blood thirsty Rawlings assumed things had sufficiently died down so it was time to taunt the families of those he had callously killed. Some months ago, the societal irritant; Rawlings reiterated his faith in the macabre ambience he masterminded in Ghana. Tell me how the families or descent minded community can forgive such an obnoxious non-repentant bastard?

No forgiveness, and there is no way they can believe or understand forgiveness. The worst of this is that they all claim to be christians, moslims, etc
They can not agree with themselves in anything they do, a real cause for alarm since such behavior can never bring any good thing to this nation, Ghana. It is totally a pitiful situation we find ourselves in this nation
This mentality started since the white people handed over this nation to us. Bitterness has been the order of the day, however the military rule makes it better than the civilian rule-- party politics with its continous hatred, pull leg, blame game, selfishness etc.
The civilian rule with the open party politics calls in bitterness out of greediness and selfishness as every person thinks he/she can handle it alone with his group, an act of scrambling and stealing of the wealth of Ghana.

It is interesting that Dr Pipim should be preaching on forgiveness. Normally forgiveness follows repentance - that is a turning away from evil actions. During the last couple of years multiple women have revealed that Pipim sexually molested or raped them and acted toward each as though she were the only one. Then he became a "daddy" to each one to keep them quiet. When some of these allegations surfaced in the US (the first was a victim from Botswana), he was defrocked by his church, after lying multiple times that this was "the only one," admitting to the next ones only after he couldn't get out of it.
Yes, forgiveness is vital, because revenge has almost wiped out whole tribes around the world. However, when criminal activity is involved, forgiveness is no substitute for an appropriate penalty and a safeguard against victimizing more young women.
Criminals can be forgiven in jail.

Confession, genuine apology, asking for forgiveness, making reparation, resolve to be accountable, and to actively create circumstances which do not allow one to "fall" again - these are each important aspects of this message. Unfortunately, the "leader" in question continues to fail his own mission.
