The Church in Ghana must encourage Christians to fulfill tax obligations to the nation in all their productive activities and our nation will be blessed. The leaders of our nation must also use the taxes they collect from the citizenry to improve the socioeconomic conditions of the people and they, the leaders, will be blessed with creativity to transform the nation.

Rev. Dr. Kwabena Opuni-Frimpong, you do yourself and the whole nation a huge disservice by putting out such trite statements.
What solutions are you offering? Do you realise what government is doing? Do you also realise that the strikes and demos make matters worse?
The whole strategy of gov't is to engage in an ambitious socio-economic development programme at the price of a little higher inflation. This includes building major roads, rehabilitating the rail network, building schools and hospitals, expanding our ports, constructing a gas pipeline from the Jubilee fields to Atuabo and Takoradi to supply gas to the Takoradi thermal plants and for processing for domestic use and manufacture of fertiliser. There are also expansion of the national electricity network and water supply systems, particularly in Accra and Kumasi. Our airports are being rehabilitated and expanded in Accra, Kumasi and Tamale. Standardisation and Computerisation of the accounting systems in the public sector. Rationalisation, computerisation and expansion of our tax collection system. These are only some of the many projects being undertaken by gov't.
Unfortunately, certain challenges have cropped up including the run on the cedi, the shortfall in export earnings, reduction in external funding, increased public sector wage bill all contributing to significant budget imbalances and consequent higher than expected inflation.
The wage demands are a direct result of high inflation. You as a man of the cloth need to understand the context of the current problems facing our country, and what is being done to improve things.
It is no use issuing bland statements which offer nothing useful to improve matters. Better for you and the Christian Council to pray for our country, and engage with gov't to understand what is happening, what is being done about it and offer practical solutions.

You said it all. Just loose talk without solutions like the NPP. These are the hidden members of the NPP. Bring out your concerns, but suggest solutions. Ghana is not for Mahama alone; it's for all of us.

Great , Rev Opuni for rooting for us. Prosperity preaching need to go hand in hand with the teachings of Christ. Some pastors need to change their life styles. This is the time for those riding in multiple SUVs to sell all but one and give the proceeds to the poor. This is the time for those who adorn themselves in expensive clothes to scale back. This is the time for multiple collections to be reduced to one collection.

The Mahama NDC gov't is not addressing any of the challenges of the citizenry and we support the call by his own "WORLD BANK" to step down.
