NDC should stop this awkward attitude and let the laws of the land handle this Ibrahim's case. Ghanaians are not living in the "animal kingdom" where some people are more equal than others. Ibrahim wouldn't have succeeded in this serious scandal without ex-President John Mahama's influence. Its a big shame to the Mahama family in particular and the NDC in general to allow this guy (Ibrahim) to put the name of the party (NDC)into disrepute simply because his brother (John Mahama) was the president and for that matter he was above the law.

COMPANIES MUST FULLY COMPLY WITH THE LAW
In my view the Banking and the Companies Laws and the Securities and Exchange Commission Regulations which require that financial statements of companies are published within three months after the financial year is being partially fulfilled and the authorities have to step in to correct this anomaly. I know many people have not averred their minds to it or have taken it for granted. The proper things should be done unless we want to amend the legal framework.
The financial statements per the Standards and the Laws include the notes to the accounts sopublication of the financial statements (F/S) comprising the balance sheet, income statement and the cash flow without the full notes is therefore incomplete. The Law did not state that abridged statements should be published for potential investors or stakeholders. The quantitative aspects are fully published, the directors and auditors responsibilities are published but the notes which I consider equally important are excluded. It is very important when one is doing comparative analysis of the current with the previous year especially to find out the cause of anysharp deviationsin the amounts of some line items. At this point it is the notes which can explain it.
There are some observations made in the accounts of some banks posting some sharp deviations between the two years in perspective but it is very difficult to appreciate the causes. One of these banks is FBNBank Ghana which posted sharp increases in the following line items on the income statement – personnel expenses increased by 31% from the previous, operating expenses increased by 61% whiles loans and advances impairment also increased by 282% from the previous amount. These are information a potential investor or any stakeholderwill want to know. The main rational for asking corporate institutions to publish their accounts is for investment decision and nothing should be done to defeat this. The least to expect is the notes to the income statement because this report on the performance of the entity and not the snap shot position.
The impact of these increases has really affected the bottom line bringing it down by 82% to GH¢3.2 million which is significant. FBNBank Ghana has operated in Ghana for more than two decades having taking over the assets and liabilities of International Commercial Bank (ICB) in 2013. One expects it to be doing far better than this when compared to banks which entered the industry much later however the picture is the other way round. FBNBank Ghana has couched a bad name for itself in the short period it has began the operations on the shores of the country with the illegal, dishonest and unethical package imposed on their employees in the years 2014 and 2015 which is court for determination.
There is a condition of service contract signed between the bank and UNICOF and ICU on behalf of the unionized employees providing among other things the procedure by which to terminate the relationship between the bank and the employees. The Labour Laws of Ghana also explicitly states it but these were ignored and something else was slapped on the employees. This is a law by an Act of Parliament and we have a parliamentarian sit on the board of the bank which approved this illegal package to be imposed on some citizens of Ghana. Even when the board approved six weeks salary for every two years package payment to the affected employees, management of the bank refused to implement it and in the process gave a flat 24 months salary instead. The board was aware of this but as long as the cheating was to the bank’s favour they kept mute over it.
Again the board approval for the package was for the whole bank in essence but management decided to discriminate the application by targeting some employees and imposed the package. The information about the board approval was not passed on to the staff body. It was kept secret and one wonders the truth in the statement that it was to the benefit of the employees.
By the admission of the Human Resource Manager the package was to give opportunity to the staffs to earn some additional benefits instead of staying on till they attain the retiring age of 60 years. Yet they arrogated to themselves the sole right to determine who benefitted from this. He has also made the point that the package was voluntary and it was not imposed. The refusal to accept the applications of some staffs was invariably an imposition thereby infringing on the rights of the affected employees. It could also be seen as a denial of ones liberty to leave the bank and engage in something else. Some of the targeted staffs were also not prepared to take the package but it was forced on them, they did not apply for it but the CEO/MD had adopted insults, threats and intimidation to forcibly push them to accept it.
The truth was that the environment was a hostile one and preceding this package there were droves of resignations so management was aware that many of the employees will take advantage if the package was brought to the notice of all. But should the employees suffer for the bad business environment they have created as management? The whole bank was dominated by despondency and fear.
FBNBank Ghana has been notoriously noted for under hand works when the manner by which the first lady CEO/MD resigned is considered. This lady was in the process of placing the staffs interest and condition of service very high by which to motivate them to deliver but she was hounded and had to resign. Instead they brought a man who was very arrogant, disrespectful and a dictator to mess up the employees who have conscientiously served the bank throughout its days with the previous investors when it first opened its doors in Ghana at the time there was no Nigerian bank.
An employee was also hounded to resign as the lady CEO. Insults were rained on this person at the least opportunity by his Nigerian boss and at credit committee meetings the CEO/MD will taunt and ask the gentleman when is he going home because he is old? Ironically, this employee is one of the hard working staff of the bank. When he eventually left, nobody could appropriately step in his stead thereby creating a gap. It was believed thiscaused the recall of the CEO/MD and the resignation of the Chief Risk Officer. This gentleman had earlier applied for the package following the comments by CEO/MD but he was denied by the Human Resource Manager in collusion with his Ghanaian superior. This is an HRM who do not have staffs interest in mind let alone institute policies that will benefit them.
What is sad and sickening is the Ghanaian Human Resource Manager who was used to perpetrate these illegalities on employees. At certain points this man denied the obvious in favour of the CEO/MD against the employees because of his parochial interests.Today his Nigerian boss has been recalled but he is here in Ghana living among his country men and women he gave up to be cheated and treated unfairly. As we speak now a section of employees are in court seeking some remedies. God forgive some of us for the wrongs we exact on others.
As part of granting the banking license the bank was to off load part of its shares through the Ghana Stock Exchange for Ghanaians to partly own but this has not been done. There has not been an occasion when the GSE has to invite potential investors to take up shares in the bank so we want to know from the Central Bank what they have done about this.
The decision by Nigerian investors particularly the banking sector to locate to Ghana was during the time the initial capital was increased by their Central Bank. We are advising our authorities not to accept Nigerians to further invest in this market again because of their attitude and their tendency to engage in fraudulent activities. As we speak today there may be some underhand dealings going on and it will not be a surprise because our Central Bank tends to shirk their responsibilities until the situation blows in our face like the microfinance scandal that happened in recent past.

THE DELTA FORCE ATTACK OF THE COURT COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED
The Delta Force problem could have been avoided if the leadership of the party and the Government had taken the pieces of advice offered and have gone ahead with the implementation. I have mentioned the Government because it was born out of the party. I have mentioned it on two separate occasions in my writings. I don’t think I need to repeat it the third time. I will say that the leadership should deal with it in the manner they deem fit. If we were proactive this sour development would have been avoided and it will not be part of the history of the party. Sadly, comparison has been made by some analysts of the Montie 3 and the Delta Force attack of the court. The Delta Force incidence in my view is less serious. It was just unfortunate they took everybody by surprise to launch the attack on the court. I believe they felt disappointed and infuriated by the failure of some party officials to get their people bailed as earlier assured. Party officials have always engaged in lies to assuage their followings as we are also seeing in the reaction to KwesiBotchwey’s fact finding committee. These guys later turned themselves to the court for the law to take its course. The unprovoked verbal attack and threat by the Montie 3 on the judges of the Supreme Court especially on the Chief Justice, the subsequent support and actions taken by the party and some Government officials and the final release by the President using the Constitution was more serious. There is no way the two incidences can be equated. The mood of the nation and the picture painted by the President to the world was despicable. This also contributed to the loss of the elections by the NDC.
The past NDC Government has been known to be reactive, only respond to matters of concern after upheavals or threats of upheavals. The NPP should not tow in that path but try to be proactive by employing dialogue at all times.
Leadership and for that matter good leadership is about sacrifice. One can be called a king if there are subjects. Sometimes, it is important to lose something small to gain big; and this is what I call good leadership. The victory in the last elections came about as a result of several efforts all put together. Appreciating all these will be the step in the right direction no matter how little it is than not appreciating. The incumbent party had everything for election and did everything conceivable to win election but that never be.
What worth are we if one is unable to sustain himself or herself economically? The problem is economic or financial and until we resolve it as such the leadership of the NPP will not be seen as responsive. We should also remember that the result chalked in the last elections is unprecedented but we have not taken our time to find out the reason. The issue of employment played a significantly important role and the expectation is that people are looking forward to getting one. It may not be immediate but the signal we send is important. That is what the leadership has failed to do. The verbal assurances enumerated at functions and gatherings are not enough. How long can a hungry, desperate and frustrated person wait?
The unemployment problem requires more than just the private sector to deal with in the immediate term. Nobody can force the sector to expand or create avenues to absorb but this decision comes from the managers of the various entities depending on their business calculations and mission. These are business decisions and not moral suasion so Government should be looking beyond this. Whiles the conducive environment is being created the Government should also be thinking about areas it can invest to engage or encourage some of these people to create economic ventures for Government to support. There are viable business opportunities which people can invest but may not have the capital and resources so Government can assist. The problem we face with unemployment is a real one which has become a national security issue. The galamsey and the vigilante problems are unemployment issues. The solution requires something more than the normal and known approaches to dealing with it in the short term. There may be other underlying challenges which are yet to be revealed so I suggest to Government to take this very important and as emergency. Power has been won but staying on top is more critical.
In the absence of providing a detailed reasoning for all the smaller parties to come together to contest the elections in the next four years, I want to say that Ghanaians are feeling despondent about the two major parties who have presided over the country and are therefore looking for alternative. The more than 24 years of the practice of the multi party democracy has exposed certain facts to our people and are willing to consciously deal with and some of us are willing to spearhead that move. If it is about analyzing the issues we cannot be found wanting at all. The people want a paradigm shift from the current developments between the two major parties and we know that once there is a threat to these parties efforts will be made to thwart the efforts for this merger. The threats are known and we shall deal with them. It is therefore in the interests of these smaller parties if they really want to contribute to the good of the country to consolidate their strengths to enable them have a voice to the direction of the country. Fortunately, the PPP is engineering this merger. We want to encourage them and we shall be lending our support. Many of us have so soon forgotten the disqualification of the party by the EC before the voting. It was a designed plot between the ruling party and the Commission to undertake this because it was thought that the PPP was going to throw the elections into a run off between the two major parties. The NDC was very hopeful to win the elections as was in 2012 and more so because of their infrastructural performance. The EC was therefore charged by the ruling party to find a way of limiting the parties at the polls. CPP which survived this ploy was meant to be bought by the NDC which they actually did by providing financially to them. I wrote about this last year but many people did not take note of it. There are real mafias in the NDC and it will take a person like myself because of my background, to deal with them. Their confidence of coming back to power in 2020 is not vague. They have a mind set and certain capabilities which are absent to the supposedly elitist NPP.
The danger to the merger will be action like this from some parties especially those claiming Nkrumaist allegiance. But we know how to deal with this when it emerges. Locating me in your fold in any form of competition is reassuring. I have stated very openly that I am the best strategist but not among the best strategists in the world, should not be taken lightly. That is where I find my God given talent aside everything I am able to do in this world.
If we continue in the present state where the NPP and the NDC have become default parties our democracy will be taken for granted and it will not be generally good for the people of Ghana. We should consciously fight for the merger or consolidation to protect our general interests. Alternatively, the PPP has held itself as a serious alternative for Government so the people of Ghana should support it to break the monopoly of the two. The argument that in the US and Britain there are dichotomy of political thinking and that should apply to Ghana is not feasible. In those places their institutions are strong and working and it does not matter which party is in power. In Ghana the institutions work to please the party in power so any party can administer the country.

GOVERNMENT SHOULD BE OPEN MINDED IN PROVIDING SOLUTIONS
There will be lots of pressure on Government to deliver and it is understandable that the people of Ghana have had to bear undue hardships for at least the past four years situated particularly from the period of the dumsor. I therefore expect the managers of the economy to be strategic, shaping their solutions into short, medium and long terms. If they jam things together expecting the people of Ghana to bear with them will be disappointing. I will not doubt the disaffection if they fail to be strategic during this critical time. How long can one be told to wait after all these years? There are people without jobs and have had to bear with the pain and marginalization all these while. Under normal circumstances the number of ministers appointed will have attracted wide public condemnation from the very fabric of society but the expectation and the focus of the ordinary person is the quick resolution of the difficulties in the country.
There is a school of thought that says the cost of maintaining the extra ministers appointed could have been channeled into providing some temporary jobs through selected private sector organizations. It is believed that some of these organizations can take additional hands but for lack of capital. It is an area that can be explored but I cannot immediately provide the fine details on this platform. In the absence of this many people are expecting the Government to deal with this critical problem to enable them start earning some income for themselves and their families. Living conditions have not improved but have remained same or worsened in an area like the transportation sector. With this background and the enthusiasm people garnered to overwhelmingly change the party in government, many cannot wait further.
If I were an advisor to the Government I will suggest that business people are invited and the issues discussed. The Youth Employment Scheme could also come in to assist with those who require skills. There are people who have the requisite qualifications and may not need skills and can be absorbed by the job market. We should not forget that people lost their jobs because of the power problem and will like to work again.
The year-on-year inflation (or month-on-month inflation) has been reported to be gaining grounds so one will like to know which sectors are contributing to the reduction in the inflation rate. Most people seethe prices of goods and services have generally remained the same or increased in some areas but are being told inflation is coming down so will like to know which sectors or economic activity areas contributing to the decline. The Statistical Service should provide the answers to the doubtful minds.
The question many are asking - is the Ghanaian better or worse today compared to ten years ago? This question can best be answered using empirical evidence but it can also be answered by comparing the individual’s living conditions during the period of reference. The use of averages can be deceptive particularly simple average. For weighted average I have my doubt if we have the appropriate data to compute it. Whatever data in the bosom of the Service will not be updated and the method by which it was collected may be lacking. Do we have the platform for data collection in this country? The data from which the averages are calculated can produce a result which can be far from the fact. As a Mathematics student I have always been concerned with the figures churned out to be representative of our general conditions like inflation and GDP. I have been involved in dealing with reports to the Central Bank so I know what I am saying. I have no doubt that if we have to test these data of their relevance and accuracy we shall come to the concerns I am raising now.
It is now becoming impossible for anybody to say that he or she can genuinely put up a house or buy one unless one finds himself in a very good job or involved in corrupt practices. No wonder there is widespread corruption since that is one easy way aspirations can be met. Alternatively, if one becomes a politician it is quite easy to make it and there are several examples to refer to. Opportunities are being narrowed with each passing moment in our country. All these can be attributed to bad leadership which includes greed and corruption. Resources which are meant to improve the general conditions in the country have been diverted for personal benefits. We also don’t care what happens to the rest of society as long as we are better resourced even if it will be to the disadvantage to the rest.
We want a paradigm shift in the way this country has so far gone and it will take a deliberate effort to do it. Often times we identify the problems, we say them but we leave them unattended to. I have consciously requested that the minority parties merge and this will feature in every article I write from now until we all see the reason to make it happen. Sometime past in the NPP as many as about nineteen candidates contested for the flag bearership but it was won by one person. That person became the President and he appointed some if not all of his competitors to various ministerial positions. Since then some of them have abandoned the role to lead their party and subsequently become president of Ghana. It is important for these smaller parties to understand that God has prepared his plan already and some of them cannot be president, chairman, secretary etc to the ruling party. At any point in time, it is only one person who can occupy a position but they must look at the common good and put away their egos. If they have to merge some will cede their positions they occupy in their individual parties but they can perform other roles in the merged party. We must always look at the bigger picture especially when we want to make a change in our world.
I have never exposed my identity in the kind of person I am. I have worked in six banks in this country including two Nigerian banks. Apart from the first bank which I joined after the university, I have had to join the others to solve some problems. And I have solved whatever problem there was and I moved on. A strong Christian friend said to me one afternoon in the office that God has created you to offer solutions to the world and I thought my whole life is about providing solutions and facing challenges. I lost two elder brothers and father in quick succession and I have to live with their children and my mother who has been paralyzed for about thirty three years. Even with this I still go through challenges to date. I see my situation similar to that of Job.
I am willing to make myself available for this merger because this is the task God has given to me. It is in the interest of Ghana, He wants to do a new thing for this country. He has not been happy with the way His children have lived in this country.
The account of achievements within hundred days by the Government is commendable looking at it from the surface. Some of these achievements have been contested by the NDC. They might have started them but were not properly done so the effects could not be felt. It will be the same thing if the current Government also do not handle them well. There are always competing forces who will do everything to have their way so the effect of some of the things will not be felt. It is easily said than done and that is about politics. We say all kinds of things on the political platform but when it comes to their realization it is a different ball game; then it moves to the realm of professionalism.
It is time for the NDC to be circumspect in their responses to some of the Government’s work. If the recent bond issue is to replace a more expensive one in terms of the coupon payment and also help to bring down the exchange rate of the dollar thereby avoiding its negative consequence on the economy, should that be politicized? Whether it was by private placement or not should not be an issue for contest once it is permissible in the industry. The allegation of conflict of interests should be exposed in clear terms.Let the NDC point out the detriment the issue of the bond has brought onto the nation. Ghanaians are ready to walk with them if there is something untoward in the transaction which affects the country negatively.

I have the strong belief God wants to do something new for this country because the way things are going are not according to His desire. The choice of the channel to use has been carefully thought through, considering the enormity of the task, I believe. It requires a very strong and big heart who has gone through life in difficult circumstances.
For some few weeks now I have insisted that the smaller parties in the country should merge into a single strong force to contest the election and have a strong say to the direction of our country. This call is not negotiable and the whole of Ghana should support it and get involved. It is in the interest of the people if the democratic journey embarked upon is not to be taken for granted by some small groups of people because it is a journey which cannot be reversed.
The PPP has invited these parties to join force but some visionless persons behind some of these parties have put up some trivial arguments without actually considering the bigger picture, to kick against the consolidation. This has been the attitude for a long time giving rise to only two parties to be alternating power which has undermined our well being. There is no much time left for the realization of this objective. We must all lend our support for this to happen. If the parties fail to consolidate Ghanaians should look at the party which has credible program and better organized to support it. Very often in elections, all the parties single out the incumbent and direct their targets at but it should be possible for all the parties to see the incumbent and others as strong contenders and this will make the competition richer and keen.
Another issue worth our consideration is that it is the same group of people who return to administer the country after exit at a certain time. Are we implying these are the only people with wisdom to administer our country? Take for instance, the NDC are seeking to return to power. It is going to be virtually the same individuals that were voted out coming back. We are in a way being told to belong to a political party before we can contribute to the direction of the country in terms of development. The Constitution was not crafted for political parties and we all do not need to belong to one. But in this case we should make a conscious effort to diversify the opportunities for smart people in our country to contribute to its development than limiting the opportunities. I believe if the PPP should win political party they will be looking out for smart Ghanaians who may not belong to any of the so called ideologies existing to come on board to assist. The ideology business is no more in operation. What I believe working now is pragmatism so any smart group of people can administer the country without having to belong to the old fashioned ideologies. By creating opportunities we are making it possible for many people in our country to bring to bear their brain power to shape this country. It is just a matter of organization and I believe the PPP especially has the ability to do it. We have seen during the last elections that some minority parties aligned to the ruling party just to get favours but not really with the view to win elections. Formation of party has become a means of enriching oneself or getting favours especially if one can attract the attention of the governing party which usually has lots of resources at its disposal.
There is the issue of default parties which need to be addressed as well. The two parties which have had the opportunity of administering the country in the fourth Republic have become default parties. If it is not one then it is the other. They appear to be better organized so Ghanaians are willing to cede their sovereignty to them. This is creating the tendency for them to marginalize the rest of us. Since we have accepted informally to allow parties to govern for two terms, they know it is a sure bet for them to return to power. This has also become what it is because after eight years we are fed up with a group of people either because they have misconducted themselves or we think they have nothing new to offer aside what they have done.
It is believed in our part of the world politics is a means to making wealth and we have seen people just from school becoming rich after going into politics. It is also an avenue by which opportunities can be created since it is a source of power. If all these are granted then it is important many more also get these benefits so that it is not concentrated to some few privileged ones thereby making them over powerful at the expense of the rest of society. It is better for the wealth to be spread. One might also get the benefit robbing off if a friend or relative finds himself or herself in this position.
For these and many more other reasons our society should make deliberate efforts to encourage other parties to grow to compete for power and actually win. I have mentioned the PPP not because of any relationship I have with the officials of that party. I don’t know anybody in that party but I see it as serious which need a push. The saying that God helps those who help themselves is applicable. Those with selfish and monopolistic tendency will get at work to scuttle this genuine efforts but the average Ghanaians who want to see his living conditions improved are ready and willing to ensure this objective is realized. There are steps I am willing to provide in camera but not on this platform if the smaller parties take up the challenge. The task will not be left to them to carry alone if they will genuinely gird themselves for it. These suggestions I am offering have not been designed against any politician or political party but it is for the common good of the Ghanaian who wants opportunity to contribute to the growth of the country. It is also to open up the democratic space to avoid the creation of thing gods to the detriment of the average Ghanaians who may not have the opportunity to ventilate their views.
Prior to the recent elections I contributed over seventy seven (77) separate views by way of articles on this platform to facilitate decision with regards to the person to get the nod for the presidency. I must be honest to say that these contributions were biased towards electing the flag bearer of the NPP because in my view the ruling party then has mismanaged the country and was taking us down the valley. It is therefore with sober humility to say that my views and that of others were accepted by the majority of Ghanaians to go for a change. One very important reason for the change was the high unemployment situation which I happen to be a victim of and continue to be. Whiles the 1992 Constitution mandates our governments to facilitate the creation of employment opportunities and better economic conditions, politicians who I refer to as “unskilled” aggravates conditions of the majority and improves same for themselves, friends and relatives. We cannot allow this to happen because those who commit this “crime” are no better. The recent challenges our country has been called to brace up with are all the result of this management. The menace of galamsey, the Delta Force and Invisible Force are all the result of economic backlashes. People must find means to survive if managers have decided to mismanage the resources of the country.
There is a seeming misconception about voting which must be cleared. Political parties only sponsor candidates to elections but we vote for persons in parliamentarians and presidents. This is the understanding provided by the Constitution and that is the reason we have the pictures of candidates on the ballot papers. A candidate who does not belong to any political party should be able to contest an election to win so where party emblems are put on the papers the practice should be stopped from now. It is a great disadvantage to independent candidates and the Constitution does not intend to create any advantage to any candidate whether belonging to a party or not. The two terms for parties should not be the case even though one can understand that it is the party that supports a president. The President once elected represents the whole country and not his party. His dealings with his party should be their internal arrangement which should not be disadvantageous to the rest of the population.

POLITICIANS ARE PLAYING GAMES WITH THE GHANAIAN PEOPLE
Am I right to say that politicians have been playing games with the people of Ghana? They identify the shortfalls in one another and use them as campaign issues against the other only to do the same thing if not worse when given the mandate to administer the country. It is unfortunate but the time has come for those of us not in party politics to be alive and to ensure that we don’t suffer from this. We all need to be ‘’politicians’’ in this context and to ensure that we design systems and programs that will make us enjoy what are due us.
It is a fact that politicians cannot solve all our problems especially within the period specified by the Constitution; that is four years. However, we should expect that having identified the shortcomings and promised to solve them, the least they can do is to honourtheir own promises. Aside this we should demand that issues which affect our well being are addressed. The promises are made for the up-liftment of our lives which never get fulfilled. The politicians have allocated so much for themselves and after just four years in parliament they take ex-gratia which amounts to a civil servant’s twenty years service to the nation.
The current Government is in power because the previous one failed the people in very key areas of our lives except to engage in the construction of physical infrastructure with the hidden motive of enriching themselves. It was right to identify some of these key areas and use them as campaign issues. It is a delight and welcome position that provision of infrastructure alone cannot be the basis to keep a government in power. After all the provision of these are done from the resources of the state and not from any government or party; they are from loans or internally generated funds.
At the time Ghana was not into commercial oil production the cost of fuel has been the major cause of price increases in the country. Now we produce oil but we are still suffering the same effect. When the price of fuel goes down we are supposed to benefit but the politician use the fall in our revenue as the excuse to deny the Ghanaianthe benefit of the price decrease. In the same vein when the price of oil goes up in the world market, the country benefits by way of revenue and at the same time the prices of goods and services are increased. So as a nation when do we benefit from the movement of oil prices on the world market? The answer to this is that the increased in revenue is used to develop the country. But what about the millions lost to corruption and mismanagement? The simple truth is that the politicians own some of the filling stations in the country so reduction in the ex-pump price of fuel will not be to their benefit. There is no stronger argument in this matter other than their parochial interests.
The politicians are being taken care of by the tax payer so they don’t feel the hardship the ordinary person goes through. They lie that they are serving us but in this case the servant is rather better off than the master. In reality we are the ones serving them. The gospel says the student cannot know better than the teacher but can know as the teacher. Is it not a fact that the ministers who have just been appointed by the President have immediately started enjoying better working conditions while many of those being referred to as masters don’t have jobs to earn them incomes? It is always the master who is sacrificed for the servant. We should immediately change our mind that those politicians living on the state are serving us. They are working to be paid and they decide how they should be paid. We the so called masters don’t decide how they should be paid.
Anytime I hear spokespersons of the NDC say they will come to power in 2020 I get amused. Is it because of their grooming in propaganda? Some of us have decided to let them off the hook now because we cannot be debating them on empty stomach when we have no employment to earn income. In any case it is a field’s day for them so they can proceed. Most of the issues they have raised so far have appropriate answers that will stop them in their tracks. They hope their consistent attacks and labeling of the Government and the party will receive attention and afford them good place in the hearts and minds of Ghanaians to return them to power. The issues so far that have put the Government and the NPP in bad light are creation of their incompetence and maladministration. They were visionless in handling the affairs of the country. The single and common answer to everything we had to do was construction of physical infrastructure. The motive is how to inflate cost and make windfall of profit. We are dealing with the footprints of the energy crisis which have created economic and financial problems staring at the current Government. If our people were to be economically active this business of vigilante after election will be nonexistent.
Some of us don’t have short memories and we are more than prepared to remind Ghanaians of all the issues that made them to vote out this bunch of people in government. The question is what are they coming with after four years in opposition? They claim they have learnt their lessons. Should we infer that they can only learn after they have gone into opposition? They have no regard for the people of Ghana otherwise the consistent warnings should have made them to change and provide us better administration. I don’t believe that in less than one year this people have really learnt their lessons. They just can’t contain being out of government where they were getting almost everything free. They are allowed by the “rules of the game” to put the Government on its toes.
Ghanaians will be disappointed if the Government does not prosecute any act of malfeasance or corruption by the former officials. This will give true meaning to the belief that politicians are playing games on the citizenry. It will be the game of scratch my back and I do the same to you. This is one of the reasons we voted the Government into power because corruption was one of the key issues for the campaign. In furtherance to this I am challenging the current administration to put out the full details of the Ameri deal. We can do our unbiased analysis on the subject. If Government fails to expose the corrupt deals during the past they will have no moral right to campaign on corruption during the next election of 2020.The other political parties will be allowed to expose acts of corruption and they will be taken very seriously if there are actually some in the current administration.
My decision to lend my support to the PPP and other smaller parties to form a merger is strategic. We don’t want to have default parties in Ghana. It is not in the interest of the general good of the citizenry. I will do everything possible to realize this objective. If I have to come out of my shelf, I am ready to do that. And when I do it will be the start of my political career.

PRESIDENT NEED TO BE TACTFULIN DEALING WITH VIGILANTE PROBLEM
The work of vigilante groups especially Delta Force will destroy the good works of Government if it is not handled well. In my view, nothing is going to tone down this group unless there are some concrete actions on their demands and I take it that they are asking for employment opportunities because that was the promise to them. One major message for the election is the promise by the NPP to provide job opportunities to Ghanaians and it is important to understand that people have lived quite long without jobs. Asking them to wait when they have seen people who may not have played any active rolein the campaign leading to the elections and the actual election appointed to positions is insulting to their intelligence. The party and the Government have to put their efforts together to resolve it.
I have provided some suggestions in the past on how to deal with the situation but it does not seat well with those in charge so they can do what they think is the best approach to handle it. I have said that leadership is about sacrifice; sometimes one has to sacrifice a little to gain lot in the future. But if you want to have everything at all times, you are likely to lose something important in the future. I am saying this from past experience which I cannot share the specifics.
The major issues for change of governments in almost all our elections in recent past have been the economy and corruption. The main difference in the recent elections has been employment and it was a very bad situation. The margin of victory was possible due to the disillusionment in the society. I will not expatiate further on this. The provision of jobs should be at the front burner of the Government and people are not ready to wait. It is easy to forget the difficulties many people especially members of the NPP went through during the eight years rule of the NDC. I am not a party member but I was able to observe from where I was. It was very bad so much that it affected those who were not even politically aligned. There was so much arrogance and exclusion by the NDC that you must belong to their fold before you can have the opportunity of any sort. Their propaganda stand also helped them so much cashing on the less discerning in the society.
My analysis about the future for this Government and the party is not something pleasant taking cognizance of developments in 2008, 2012 and 2016 before the elections. It was the work of God for the current Government to be able to come into being. There appear some divisions between the party and Government but as long as they are in government they can handle without explosion. This vigilante issue can make or unmake the party and it may cost it the next election. Even without these things I am seeing a run-off in the next election and the “temperature” in the country will be high. Something unusual will happen, something we have not seen for a very long time in our elections. There will be a king maker in the way I am seeing things. The current Government will deliver on most of its promises but it is going to face desertion which will make its position precarious. I will not like to go into the details. Let me only use this opportunity to warn the President to be very tactful with his actions especially with those who sacrificed for his victory. Many people are peeved in the way he is handling things. I have stated before that if any party ignores its communicators that will be the beginning of its fall. In the past the issue of communication team was non existent but former PresidentKufuoradopted a strategy that worked so well for him. I have stated it several times in the past so I will not mention it again. The NDC also had propaganda machinery headed by Propaganda Secretary which worked for it.
The Planting for Food and Job program is a very good one but its successful implementation may encounter some challenges if it is not well thought through. The whole value chain needs to be properly analyzed and solutions found for any potential challenge that may be encountered. The program is being carried out by those already into farming who have the farm lands. When the fruits are harvested, what happens to them? Is Government going to buy the produce? After warehousing the surplus what will be done to it? Is it for only consumption and sale in the raw state or they will be processed?
It is my hope we shall not experience the same scenario as in fishing where the rich buy the fishes and cold store them after bumper harvest to be sold to the market at high prices during the lean season.
This is said to provide jobs but one is not too clear which areas the job will be created apart from the use of Agric Extension Officers. There is the mention of the program going to be labour intensive for which many hands will be engaged. What sort of human resources will be needed for the program? Will it be that attractive to entice graduates because the main problem with employment is graduate unemployment?
We can only wait to see how things unfold as those tasked have shown they are up to the task.

TEMA METROPOLITAN ASSEMBLY IS SHIRKING ITS RESPONSIBILITY
Every year we lose so much to corruption whiles there are so much undone as a nation of sixty years of age. We allow some few people among us to stack away the resources of the nation for their personal and family benefit. What will make one person or few people do such things like this? These people think they deserve the state’s money whiles the rest of the population are deprived. We find them but we are unable to punish them because we know ourselves are susceptible to the same crime and will be treated the same. I have therefore maintained that this country needs a different breed of leadership who are committed not to soil their hands. I am not moved by what people say but more importantly by what they do.
A visit to the Tema Library will make you understand why I am fuming about corruption. This is a national asset used by several individuals including our children but the condition under which it operates is not worth the Ghana handed to us by our forbearers. I am not sure any of those people we are proud to be referring to anytime there is a national day to mark, will ever supervise such a development. We should try at least to walk out talks but it is becoming obvious that we only good in talking. We have said several things over the past few years and if we have done all of these things Ghana will be robbing shoulders with some of the advanced economies.
The first time I visited this library and demanded to have a previous day Graphic I was shocked to be told there was no copy because the Tema Metropolitan Assembly which is supposed to subscribe has not been doing it. I was on this platform to bring readers and the authorities to this knowledge. The next time I visited I was told the subscription is now done but the lady Head of the library has to always go to the TMA to pick the copy of the newspaper. Anytime she was not able to pick then there is no paper for the library on that day. Unfortunately there are two other ladies who assist the Head and they don’t live anywhere close to TMA so it was inconvenient for any of these ladies to pick the papers in the absence of the head. Why should we be doing things like this? Is TMA not having a messenger or any vehicle that could do this or put into place any reasonable arrangement to deliver the newspaper to the library?
Another matter of concern to the library is the heat under which patrons have to go about their engagements. There are ceiling fans but about 80% of them are not in good conditions. It is therefore an eye sore to see people rob off sweat on their foreheads or use books to fan themselves in the process of reading. Those who cannot stand the level heat have to frequently move in and out of the room. How much will it take to repair these ceiling fans if we cannot replace them with new ones?
When visitors come to this country we create the impression that everything is well and we send them to places that are good and avoid those which will put us into bad light. This is one hypocrisy we play on ourselves.
There are broken down shelves for the children’s books for which the books have been dumped on a table in the library. What will it take to have these shelves repaired? So many little things are wrong in our country but we are building sky scrappers. This is the reason I have written before that our foundations are weak. They are really weak and I want to challenge all of us to go round the country to find out the conditions of the little thing which do not take much to put right.
I have said before that the day God will take me close to power, many if not all of these things will be a thing of the past. I am not too much amused with sky scrappers but very much concerned with the little things. When the micro is strong, the macro will definitely be stronger. The concentration is always on the macro because they are easy to handle. We have become lazy leaders who want to enjoy the best, doing little.
I use this opportunity to advise the authorities at TMA to understand that anything worth doing is worth doing well. The big men and women they are called is not only meant for enjoyment but to also work. We have become addicted to the wait and see attitude and by the time we realize things have gone out of hands. At this point they become difficult to handle. The galamsey menace we are dealing with today started on a smaller scale but we did not do anything about it until today when it has grown big. There are people tasked to work but will not do what is expected of them until it becomes a bigger challenge when huge resources have to be deployed.

NDC Plans Against Free SHS
April 25, 2017
Free SHS
The National Democratic Congress (NDC), even in opposition, is still against the implementation of the Free Senior High School Education policy of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government and is reportedly planning to destroy the programme before it takes off.
So far, Mr. Mahama’s hopes of leading the NDC again for the 2020 elections, look bright, credible sources in the corridors of the party have disclosed on condition of anonymity.
They claimed that Mr. Mahama’s only fear is that if the Free Education policy, which is popular in the country, becomes successful after it has taken off in September, then his chances of becoming president again will be dashed.
“Mr. Mahama is aware that the Free Education policy will benefit every household in the country and it will affect his chances of winning the 2020 poll,” a source confided in the paper.
The source alleged that the NDC is therefore initiating several sinister plots to make sure that the policy fails, as it engages fifth columnists in the secret service as well as education authorities.
SA Mercenaries
The NDC, which days in political office were characterized by open corruption and mismanagement, is said to have invited some South Africans into Ghana.
These foreigners, who are reportedly already in the country, have been tasked to tour the country and come out with a clear-cut ‘fiendish’ policy that will help destroy the Free Education policy.
The South Africans are said to be moving round the country with sophisticated gadgets to gather key information, geared towards shooting down the Free Education policy.

According to reports, the NDC is also soliciting support from the Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) operatives who are loyal to the party, especially in the three northern regions as well as the Volta Region, to tap information for the party on how to undermine the NPP flagship educational programme.
The NDC leader is reported to have engaged some BNI operatives to help destroy the Free Education policy even before the policy kick-starts. Recently, the BNI was said to have conducted opinion polls on the policy and purportedly reported that the programme is discriminatory because it will only target brilliant students.
GES Staff
The NDC’s clandestine plot against the Free Education programme is said to have been extended to some Ghana Education Service (GES) staff, believed to be known NDC supporters and sympathizers.
These GES staff, according to credible reports, have also been specifically tasked to frustrate the system so that it will not see the light of day.
Coordinating Directors
According to the sources, the opposition party is also said to have challenged some district coordinating directors in most of the assemblies in the country, who are staunch members of the party, to work clandestinely to kill the policy.
Confirmed Secret Meetings
It has been confirmed that the NDC’s teams have had a series of meetings with regional and district directors of education as well as heads of educational institutions in the three northern regions, geared at sabotaging the programme.
Private Schools
The plan does not involve only stakeholders in the public sector, but has also been extended to owners and heads of some private senior high schools (SHS).
These private SHS owners have reportedly been brainwashed by Mr. Mahama’s teams to strongly kick against the implementation of the Free Education policy because its implementation will collapse their business.
“Interestingly, education in the country is free at the primary school level, yet the various private primary schools are still in business. Therefore the claim that free education will collapse private schools at the SHS level is a hoax,” noted a renowned educationist who did not want to be mentioned.
Free Education Policy
The Free Education policy, a major social intervention programme, was one of the key campaign messages of the NPP and President Akufo-Addo (then presidential candidate) prior to the 2016 elections.
The NPP administration is set to implement the programme in September this year, as budgetary allocations have already been made for it.
Per the programme, every Ghanaian child, irrespective of his/her tribal, religious, political or social background, can access secondary education free of charge to help enhance their future.
Even before the programme is officially rolled out, the NPP administration has been receiving commendations and applause from Ghanaians.
