Ghana used to boast of strong and bravery soldiers like General Afrifa , General Amedeka, General kutu Acheampong , General kotoka , General Akafia and the likes. These gallant warrior served enviable nation with high level of maturity and patrotism .
The incoming soldiers re not well screened , not well trained but re promoted and recruited massively based on connections , politics , tribalism and degrees .
Ghana has come far . We need leaders not looters . We need great men and women to lead the country Free from politics and tribal lines .
God bless Ghana .

When was the last time our men and women in uniform fought on our soil? We haven't had any war since time immemorial and I hope there would never be one. Our soldiers go to war when there is coup and since coups have been consigned to the dustbin, what are they doing? They can be used to fight armed robberies and the scourge of Fulani herdsmen.

Also, they should be deployed to guard areas where sand winners are using "land guards" to terrorize the lives of innocent farmers. A case in point is the town of "Yaw Korkor/Yaa Korkor near Nsawam.

Nothing short of this will pacify the land , heal this broken nation and sent a clear message to this wicked generation of thugs. After all arrest have been made by the military, the field engineers regiment should move in with Bull Dozers and wipe out that town call Denkyira Boasi. All resident must leave and settle elsewhere at no cost to government. The military should then build a military base there permanently and call it FORT MAHAMA. Give the gallant soldier and burry him at Boasi in the heart of the new military base where he fell.

The people of Denkyira Boasi are known to be wicked. Legend had it that Okomfo Anokye went to that village one day and feeling thirsty, asked for water. All the houses he entered refused to give him water and finally, he went to a house where an old lady lives by herself. The old lady perhaps saw who he was so she gave him water and after relaxing for a while, Okomfo Anokye asked why the villagers are so heartless? The old lady replied that "that is how we are in this village".

Before leaving the village, Anokye told the lady to leave and settled anywhere because by the hour of six o'clock in the evening that day, some devastating event will come on the village and legends had it that most people in the village died mysteriously.

As a former Capt of the GH Army, Capt Mahama's lynching reminds me of the senseless murder of 2/Lt Gbadago and 2/Lt Agbanyo on operation Gong-gong during the Kokomba -Nanumba-Dagomba conflict. Even though the circumstances are different ,the common denominator is that military personnel on duty are fair game for vigilantes. Even a rabbied dog is euthanized BUT not killed with that cruelty. Where lies our common humanity???? Vigilantism is a cancer metastasizing so rapidly that if it's not suppressed, even a minister of state on a visit to a hot spot could be lynched under the orders of any lunatic/joker. If we could flashback, think of NINJA (Owusu Sekyere). I urge the govt to make it clear to every Ghanaian that DEATH SENTENCE is still in our penal code. Capt Mahama, vengeance belongs to GOD.

Irrespective of who and what the person is hand that person to the police and the police handle. Many an innocent people might have been killed due to this rampant mob action. We need more education. And this should never be politicized because it has been happening for a long time. We need discipline and the first step is to return the mission schools where fear of God and value for life was part of the teachings. The society has broken down today because politics has crept into every aspect of our lives and we don't value life anymore. We are all worshipping money. God grant him eternal rest, Capt. Mahama.
