The two quotes are essentially the same. James Aggrey may have stated family. But the family is the smallest unit of a nation. Family by family, we form a nation.

Problem is a quote is a quote. You either quote the same words or any other words become your personal understanding of the quote.

BLOCK HEADS, THE WOMAN IS A PROFESSOR IN HISTORY AND HER WORK IS TO RESEARCH. YOU SEE WHY KWAKU BAAKO IS DIFFICULT TO BEAT........HE DOES ENOUGH RESEARCH BEFORE COMMENTING ON ANY ISSUE. WE SHOULD START DOING THAT AS A PEOPLE. FOOD FOR THOUGHT.

Why do u have to say families come together to form a nation so the two are the same? In that case individuals also come together to form a family so there is no difference. In academic citation one has to quote verbatim i.e. word for word, otherwise it becomes a paraphrase. Kwegir Aggrey used "family" and not "nation" so please let's accept what the professor is saying and move on. How many of us commenting here are historians and why do we want to debate the professor? It's becoming too nasty the way some of us have made it a habit to attack academics anytime they make statements. If we doubt our intellectuals then we should stop sending our kids to school bcos there's no need. Some of u are able to type ur insulting comments bcos a teacher had to teach u how to read and write. Let's learn to be civil.

The biggest problem with this platform is the insults and the inability or refusal of contributors to be civil in their discourse. People are misbehaving here, just like irrational beings.

I learnt a lot from my father. Most of my professors were males. Another fallacy is "what a man can do, women can do better" Can women run faster than Usain Bolt?
