Ghana is seriously paralyzed. The government needs to wake up and rescue Ghana from the free fall to bottomless depth of decline.
I know 37 Hospital has machine that prepares Hospital Oxygen on site and runs that through pipeline. These machine were set up about 15 years ago from Germany. What happened to these machine that has maintenance and parts provision in the contract to keep oxygen production continuous. 37 Hospital was the first to set up such machine in Ghana. All we do in Ghana is to loot the state. Ghana is shamefully rotten to the core and some of us ashamed of the rot in Ghana, the corruption and decline of progress. Sad sad sad.

Guys dont let's come to a conclusion. A thorough investigation should start from the hotel room before the sharp chest pain. A strong army pharmacist and a Ned student visiting home and lodging in. HOTEL with such salient chest pain. Was it a good poison or environmental disaster before easing to the hospital. Need indeed research. Even though common oxegyn should have been ready go in a hospital like 37 military Ned station. Oxygyn should not be a problen, also is a serious concern should factored for lack of oxygyn at one of the best equipped hospitals in Accra. I am alarmed why such a person and other colleagues cannot stay in holiday Inn hotel than staying in other hotels like the one he chose of which am sure holiday Inn/ Marriot has certain capabilities as first responders at hand which could have saved the life of a promising seasoned candidate as a Med student. Rest in Perfect Peace My Brother and Comrade. I aways cry when I heard other comrades died in such a death like this and Major Maxwell Adam.

My greatest sympathy and condolences to the bereaved family for the tragic and painful death of their kinsman
My late mother was a victim of same negligence somec11 years ago at the korle bu teaching hoital
She was taken ill there by my kid brother with chest pain complaints and the inability to breatheroperly amidst excessive sweating
The female medical doctor at the opd ,undertaking her housemanship refused torovide oxygen to my mother despite pleas from my brother
Her argument was that there was no bed for my beloved mum who was then redirected to the nearby polyclinic
She died enroute before she could reach the polyclinic
The only differene here is she was denied oxygen which was available unlike in this xase it was not available
Sad stories
May my mother and these victims of medical negligence rest in the bossom of their creator

If he had been sent to the new ridge hospital the story would have been different as the hospital is able to produce its own oxygen unlike others that procure it hence the intermittent shortages. Why is it easy for us as Ghanaians to imbibe any crap because it is written by a journalist? Though I don't hold brief for the hospital, there are more questions to ask from the narration. Like Rockson suggested, the investigation should start from the hotel. How can the nurses take one oxygen mask from a patient to the other? Is that patient not human like the patient "Pharmacist"? These are serious allegations and medically incorrect to do.Or how sure is the cousin that the body she saw in the morgue was the other patient the oxygen was taken from.Does she work with the nurses at the ward? Or she took cursory look at the patient so that she can say the things she is saying? or how come the two dead people were placed together at the morgue? Please let us not just accept things without doing thorough checking. In times of grief anything can be sad just to discredit the good works people are doing to save lives.

Let us not be hasty to jump to conclusions. Without an autopsy how can one say he died due to lack or absence of oxygen? Anything could have led to his demise.

Now that he is dead, it is easier for those who remain recalcitrant not to fault our Medical Providers for their shameless failure to provide even the most basic Medical needs to blame his death on anything else.
The simple fact that cannot be disputed about the man's death is that he asked for Medical Oxygen and the Hospital did not have some for him.
Had he been given the Oxygen and still died, then I would have excused the Hospital's defenders who are claiming the death could have been caused by anything else.
Nevertheless, more critically, even though there might have been some underlying cause for the death, yet, the lack of oxygen might have been the last stage of dying which, had he been given any, might have stopped the dying process, and even reversed it to keep him alive.
People could have heart-attack or stroke or high-blood pressure or anything else that could lead to their death. However, at the point where any such affliction reaches its worst, there still could be one or two last Medical or physiological interventions that could save their lives. That is why we go to seek emergency care at Hospitals. And if the Hospitals do not have the very basic life-saving supplies, then we have failed to live up to our expectations. Period. And that is not excusable.
Long Live Ghana!!!

Unfortunately oxygen would' have helped, he probably had pulmonary embolism due to the recent air travel, preventable death, but the slow nature of response by the Ghanaian system cost him his life,
My sister was just there, with slurred speech and fuzziness in her head, her Bp was high a little,
I was told by family and l immediately said she had a TIA or stroke, l was told she was been treated for malaria.
I called to warn her, the doctor just arrived to see her, she told me on the phone, l requested if l could have a word with the doctor?,
The doctor refused to talk to me, l made my sister informed the doctor that l am a doctor too and just want to ask questions. He refused,
They brought her blood pressure down and she had a stroke immediately, she was then discharged from the hospital ( Kaneshiee polyclinic)
They took her to 37 where she was re-admitted and a CT confirmation stroke,
The doctors at the poly clinic caused the stroke,
It is that bad in Ghana

I wish as a nation, we can set our priorities right by putting the health and safety measures of the citizenry first. I stood in a hospital emergency counting for when a patient who was involved in a Road Traffic Accident would die because they couldn't offer intensive care services and the closest guarantee was if a helicopter could show up and lift him to a place like 37 as we recounted. Reading this makes me sad and I know we are not safe in this country.
When recently, Korle BU can not also do basic laboratory tests like renal (kidney) function, liver function and so many others that Clinicians need to make decisions.
If the tertiary hospitals are suffering this way, what will happen to those of us down there?
Let's put necessary structures and measures in place without favoritism bit rather seek the Paramount interest of the general public
Even Accra then what about from Nsawam.....going ?// Is that what KUM Atta Mills ?
Ridge hospital has oxygen.
