John Mahama and his gang of looters brought this bill to parliament so his looting partner Agyepong of Zoom Lion and their group of companies will reap where he hasn't sown and they will share the booty. It was meant to steeeal money from Ghanaians for no work done. I always make sure that my vehicle is maintained at every 5,000km so it doesn't break down. Why should I pay a flat fee for some stupid vehicle owner who doesn't do the right maintenance and his vehicle can be towed from the highway when it breaks down? Just scrap this law and charge vehicle owners whose vehicles break down on the highway. That is the only way every vehicle owner will take routine maintenance seriously. Stop this nonsense and lazy way of putting stolen money into the pockets of crooks, just like the Afriwave contract.

The last time I checked, John Mahama is no longer the President of Ghana. This stupid edict has daylight robbery written all over it. They must ask companies interested in the towing business to register as such and be mandated to tow vehicles to a pound for a fee, and also be given the authority to auction off vehicles that are not claimed within a month of a tow. We have to bring sanity into our system, but this one certainly is just a way of robbing people and makes no sense at all. If they open it up, I might be interested in the towing business, but nothing is going to be compulsory. You pay only when your vehicle is towed, period.

Do you know that for every water bill you pay, a portion is given to fight fire as well providing community water for some people you dont even know? More than 20% of road accidents are caused by abandoned vehicles on road (broken down or from accident itself). Ok consider you blast 2 tyres at the same time whiles moving and u left on the road. Is it lack of maintenance? Even so,can you move cargo off road just like that? No. U need tow trucks do the job. Besides, the company shall employ ambulance services and traffic control wardens for ease of transport. All these coming from the monies. Additionally they shall support gov't agencies like police and nrsc with vehicles. I think that 20 yr contract renewable every 2 yrs is ok, only that I think it should have been signed for 8 or 10 yrs instead

I am not responsible for my brother's crimes; you leave your vehicle to be towed, you do the paying, pure, plain and simple, but don't ask me to pay for someone's misdeeds. This is not done in a civilized society. The naked robbery of NPP is transparent for all to see. They did not come to change anything, but to look for money to defray all their campaign expenses from 2012 to date. I am fuming with rage at this stupid piece of announcement.

I couldn't agree with you more than anything else this is exactly way to go and those non members who doesn't tow their cars on time should pay a hefty fine plus tow and parking charges

(1) when you park for 2 minutes in front of a shop they clamp and come to tow.

Joe I don't think is armed robbery but rather sanitizing the street and bringing order on the roads and if is done or implement it in orderly manner it'd make everybody happy

......WHICH MAY NEVER HAPPEN? Why institute a tax to force people to pay for something which may never happen to them just because they own a car or any other vehicle for that matter? Yes, the Motor Traffic Police or Highway Patrol have the responsibility to keep our highways free of obstructions to keep traffic flowing freely and safely but, surely, it makes more sense to have them ready to provide the towing service and charging the users of the service appropriately rather than hijacking every road user for such a service whether they use it or not, eh? Why turn such a laudable idea into something laughable without properly thinking it through?
