When did rain ever influence or disrupt a game of football when we were growing up. Appiah has also been complaining about the pitch. I think Appiah has been eating salad and being given some over -comfort hotel beds to sleep on so he has forgotten where he came from and how he got to where he current is.

We grew up playing football in the rain, sun and harmattan. gutter-to-gutter, small-posts, aaba-ten and all were played in all weather.

If the foreign players cannot manage this pitch and weather because they are now so much used to eating salad and pasta, ala-carte chicken with french broise, the I suggest you get 11 players from Berekum Chelsea, Kotoko, Liberty, Hearts, Kpando lions, Tamale Real United, feed them with Yorke-Gari the morning before the game, roasted plaintain for lunch with three sachets of imported Ghana pure-water and unleash them at the Burkinabes, and watch them massacre these Campoare boys to oblivion .

Black Stars must learn how to play in the rain on a sandy pitch. The other coach claims he has advantage. Appiah must neutralize that advantage by testing the playing surface before the game under all possible conditions and strategize contigency plans. Even in boxing it is advantageous to come in the ring and test the canvas' rigidity in case you might wish to dance all night like Muhammed Ali or in case you fall on the deck like a rag doll. Appiah must improvise to prevent what happened to some favorites in one European Cup finals when the referee allowed the game to be played in the rain. In the rain, ball control is different, passes are slow or caught in pools of water, the ball is slightly heavier and slippery for the goalkeeper and most of all Wakaso has to practise the penalty kicks in the rain before it is too late.

We at home in Nija didnt give our boys the chance to qualify for the quarter final. we didnt believe in them before they met bf they met ivory coast. I still do not believe in themj, though. Watch it, Mali and Burkina faso are capable of making the finals.So, please purge yourselves of arrogance be you a Nigerian or a Ghanaian. The era of Ghana/Nigeria/ Cameroun/Tunisia/Zambia just defeating any other Team easily in Africa is gone. Also, when the world cup qualifiers start, we will realise that the so called superiority of Ghana, Nigeria etc will not be there. Zambia is leading Ghana by about 3 points or so and Nija is not sitting comfortably at the summit of her Group. So, the arrogance should be done away with by the fans of Nigeria and Ghana. Sithole reveals that just over 23,000 tickets, of 41,000, have been sold for semi-final match between Ghana and Burkina Faso, which will be played at Mbombela Stadium on Wednesday.

Around 45,000 tickets have been sold for the other semi-final clash between Nigeria and Mali, which will be played in Durban. Moses Mabhida has a capacity of 54,000.
