They lack professionalism in football.GFA knows that Dede AYEW should play but they refused him.The Black Stars don't have a professional left fullback player,I mean a natural lefty since about a decade ago yet the technical team has not been able to solve this problem. As a matter of fact we were lucky yesterday,Burkina could have scored 5 clean goals.I am happy we were eliminated by 3-2 penalty shot outs because could not play good game.Kwesi Appiah the Coach has paid dearly for refusing Dede Ayew, this is a professional fault.Football has become professional, the coach must work for results. You can bring in some bad boys to win games, atimes even sick players are forced to play.Coaches have to be tactical with they potential players.Well,it's a very good lesson for GFA.Thank you.

Look, this guy is now more of a liability than an asset to the team. He does the barest minimum and scores one goal in 5 games like he has just done during CAN 2013. What country allows such a player to continue playing for them?.Only Ghana will do that. No one can now say Ghana does not give its own the opportunity to coach the national side. K.Appiah has had his chance but I think he failed miserably. This is the first time in a very long while that I have seen a Ghanaian side that cannot string five passes together without losing the ball to the opposition. This means the team has no fluidity and when that happens you overwork the midfiend and the defense as has happened to the BS throughout the tournament. The long ball to Gyan has not materialized as he has become so lazy. Why the coach kept him on the field for 120 minutes especially when we all know he does not take pens anymore baffled everyone. Why take Kwaraso off when the coach should have envisaged that there was the likelihood of the game being decided on penalties and Kwaraso has scored three out of three already? Who is the best bet in the team to score a penalty kick better than him? I loved the way K. Appiah conducted himself with such dignity in the dugout but when it came to technical proficiency and decision making, he failed abysmally. Either the GFA pairs him up with a more technically astute coach or give him the push. We cannot go to the World Cup with this naive approach, teams like Germany will spell Ghana in their score against us. Andre Ayew should be made to resolve his differences with the handlers and become part of the team. The team needs him, but most of all, the team needs a better technical coach. No time to waste. The BS team is very talented but the show they dished out before a supporting and sympathizing world wide audience was sometimes naive and disgraceful. It must not be repeated ever again. Some of us could not sleep a wick last night and we have very important roles to play in society. We need our sleep, I did not get any last night. Our team's performance means a lot to us, so, this is not a joking matter. Can you imagine what it does to a proud patriotic father like me when my 17 years old son angrily says he will not support Ghana anymore but will cheer for Nigeria because Ghana has let him down? Bad, very bad.

Not entirely true. Coach Plavi wasn't fired. He left because the money demanded after the AFCON 2012 was too much for his record with the team.
Now, is Appiah going to be fired is your question right? I don't think so because we have very little time to acquire another coach at the moment. That will really dent our development. These players are new and are now adjusting to themselves and it could only get better as time goes on. Therefore, letting Appiah go will be a mistake. I say, he should just take a month if only he has that time to go back to the coaching program again.
He has the passion of the spot and has shown the potential. It is just that somethings about him, such as playing a dangerous play maker like Kwedwo Asamoah at defense, has to be changed. He should know the best positions for his players and use them there for best results to be obtained.
I say, we keep him but retire Asamoah Gyan prematurely and replace him with young players like Warris and Jordan.
This is my say.

I for one did not no the job scope GFA did not make it people. I do not buy into lack of time for ones replacement the same argument was made about keeping Plavi Afcon 2013 and 2014 WC were used but when we let him go we made it to South Africa. On the order hand you make a perfect to keep him for all that you have said but the man cannot take a month off and a month off would not do him any good. He is yet to find his own path his 8 years as an assistant under three different coaches is always reflecting in his way of thinking, he does not know when to play Milo defensiveness or Plavi attacking these are the things that come with experience I would suggest GFA hire an experience coach or game reader as Tech Director or GM to directly oversee him who would sit down on the bench to advise him. If I am the GFA President I would hire you for the job under one condition stick football and not the management side.

I believe Appiah needs to be kept too, he has to take some time off in between our less busy periods for some more refresher courses. Judging on the calibre of talents he's raised in this short period, I duff my hat for him. He lacked some tactical abilities that could've changed our game pattern during the tournament. I'll still give him 60% performance rate but he has to work hard for the remaining 40. Sacking him is not an option at alllllllll.

@Slimzay, POW. I follow your comments always but this time I disagree with you. I don't Appiah should've been given the job in the first place. This is not the job to experiment with. He should be given one of the junior teams to learn on the job until the time is right to take the helms of the BS. I think he was more interested in showcasing certain players than winning the trophy for reasons best known to him. For Ghana to progress (not only in sports), we do not have to reward failure or mediocrity and it seems that's what you're advocating. We need a coach that can manage all the egos in the BS rather than the egos managing the coach. A coach that has the balls to substitute any player regardless of whether that player is the captain or not. Appiah lacks that balls. Don't get me wrong, Appiah is a good person but if you bring personal vendetta into your work, it makes it difficult for you to achieve your goals because you'll be lacking personnel in certain departments.

"What else can I say." Gyan said.
What can you say? Did I hear Gyan saying what can I say? Is that all a captain who wasted 5 clear chances classified those chances as few has to say? Yes, the field didn't favor him but those chances not all of those chances were through the ground. I was expecting to hear him saying I'm sorry for my misses" but not giving excuses.
"there were a few chances I should have buried but luck was not on my side." Asamoah Gyan says so.
Few chances? What is few to Asamoah Gyan in football? Once the chances come and you waste it, you pay it back with interest. Didn't I mention this last week? We get the chances then we waste them and expect not to pay it back.
This is whom Appiah labeled the best striker the country has at the moment. Yea right! Abdul Majeed Warris and Jordan Ayew could have done better than the two strikers coach Appiah picked and it is obvious now.
Didn't I tell you people that Emmanuel Clottey is just a spectator in the squad? Look at how a striker, who hasn't been able to score a goal of your own, given the opportunity to score just one goal through a penalty kick and still wasted it. You call these strikers, Coach Appiah. Our next tournament should contain, Boakye Yiadom, Majeed Warris and Jordan Ayew. Asamoah Gyan should be forced to retire after this tournament.
"The lucky side won." Look at what he is saying
The lucky side? Is this player alright at all? Now it is lucky hah? I don't blame Gyan, but the coach.
Kwasi Appiah wasn't supposed to bring Kwedwo Asamoah back at the left-full-back position. This mistake was done in our first group match against Congo DR and it didn't work for the team. The player is like a play maker type; therefore, when he is positioned at the back, it defeats his purpose on the field. His functionality becomes useless.
In this match, the moment John Pantsil got hurt and a new defender wasn't allow to come in by the coach but rather brought in a midfielder and dropped Kwedwo Asamoah to the defense, the threat on the opponent was released because Kwedwo Asamoah wasn't up there to create chances for his team mates to score.
So my question is why did the coach do that? Didn't we have another defenders who could have came in for that right full-back position in place of JP? Why Harrison Afful has to be switched to the right full-back position for a midfielder to replace him at the left full back position? Where was Kissi Boaten? Where was Awal Mohammed? Are you telling me Jonathan Mensah or Jerry Akaminko couldn't have played the right full-back position? Is Akwasi Appiah telling me he took only one right full back player with the team to South Africa? Does this make sense at all? What a waste!
When I was saying we were not playing well, people didn't agree with me. We beat Mali, Niger, and Cape Verve and we thought we were all that. Some people were saying the reason we were not playing well was because every team and every game were different. Who doesn't know that? We all know that Niger is not the same as Mali; however, that shouldn't stop a team to still play well. Look at how Nigeria dismantled Mali? I guess we will now learn it the hard way by learning from the Nigerian's performances.
Coach Appiah will need to go back to the coaching school again for he lacks techniques and has no vision for substitutions. The players like him very much which is a good thing but tactically, the man is not there yet.

Cape Verde should have kicked Ghana out of this tournament but the goalkeeper kept the Stars going.
Right now, Ghana needs players who will play with passion and force.
Look at Burkina Faso, after that "shady penalty", they never looked back. They kept bombarding the Stars with unrelenting attacks just to even the scores and they were rewarded with a victory. That is how football is played. Do not score then relax.

The referee was not favoring Ghana, he was just bad all around. I like Gyan and feel he should stay. The coach also did a good job until the last few minutes of this game. As I said, this team and coach should be left alone to grow, they are still a young team and a young coach, they will be dangerous.

I am still behind the coach, but he needs to learn how to work under pressure. I knew we were going to lose when he started making nonsensical subs, just like when we played Zambia. You know we are going to penalties, why is Mubarak taken out for Clottey? Why is Vorsah the first penalty taker? It should have been Wakaso first , then Gyan, etc. Also the refereeing was bad, but I still can't say it was all in Ghana's favor because there were some bad calls against Ghana as well. If this team is allowed time to grow they will become dangerous, but right now I hate to say it maybe Tamakloe was right.
