This writer must understand that building a winsome team takes time and it is usually blending new gifted players with those who are experienced and matured. The idea that Kwasi Appiah could win the cup with untested players in such an arena make many of us nervous. It is great to write great articles like this one but seriously, are you sure Kwasi Appiah knows what he is doing? People are angry because after such a great showing in the 2010 world cup outing, we may not be there after all in 2014.

1. Mr. Appiah took the tasks seriously. His focus was proper team chemistry. This is important.
2. In any business, if an employee thinks that he or she can show up whenever they want, then there will be problems. I know in Ghana people are conditioned to accept, "I am going to a funeral I will come back to work when I feel like it..." However, this cannot be allowed in the modern business world including international football.
If Ghana is really a soccer nation, we should be able to field a "C" team that could go to AFCON and get out of the group stages.
I think Ghanaians are panicking too much. The reality is that African football is now more competitive so anyone can lose to anyone. Remember, we went farther than Algeria, Tunisia, Ivory Coast, Zambia, Morocco and Angola. These are all good teams.
In fact, some of the teams that we thought were "cheap teams" DR Congo and Cape Verde were tougher than we thought. Being objective, I do not think the Ayews or Essien, etc....would have made a difference. In the end, Burkina was just bigger and stronger. If we would have played Togo instead of Burkina we might have gotten lucky but that is football.

We Ghanaians are quick to say things like 'God will do this and that for us'. Don't forget, every country will be calling on the same God for help. God will only listen to the prayers of those that run their teams competently. Not just anybody who calls his name in vain.

"and exposed to modern trends in coaching, which I trust GFA is going to do" This should have been done a long time ago by GFA or by AA himself. Are you kidding. Instead of using preemptive and preventive measures they have been opting for low standards in anticipation of curative measures. That is disguised doom. Most Ghanaians do not expect AA to equal the Serbian's achievements as you claim, they want AA to surpass them with results. Do you think Ghanaians cannot compare how the Black Stars played in the semi-finals in AFCON 2010, 2012 and 2013? Ghanaians are not ditzy when it comes to football.
The 2013 semi is the worse. I think what needs to be done is simple: GFA should ask AA what he needs to make him perform like Mourinho, or Guardiola and you will find the most intriguing list ever made.

NO MORE WHITE COACHES! GFA AND GH SOCCER HAVE FAILED BECAUSE THEY HAVE FAILED TO KEEP INNOVATING THEMSELVES, EVEN AFTER THEY WERE DOING WELL.

ask him whether Ghana paid any money for the camping in abu dahbi before the afcon?
he told a Ghanaian Journalist at the OLIVER Tambo airport in SA about how HE NYANTAKYI influenced the referee in the Burkina game with
50,000 dollars. ask him why his name changed from nyantayi to nana nimo the sponsorship deals involving the FA?
ask how much HE NYANTAKYI INSTEAD OF GH, has benefited from all friendly games since he became president?
ask him why after years of dedication and commitment to his cause, he showed randy abbey and fred pappoe the red in his second term?
finally ask how well he believes and trust God the father and creator and whether he has never visited any lesser God.

It's all well maintaining a local coach. But what happened in South Africa is a wake up call that new ideas are needed both on the technical bench and on the playing field. The truth is we will be once again Living in Fool's Paradise if we think Ghana can make any headway, let alone qualify for the World Cup if we continue to play like we did. I will dwell particularly on the playing field. Some of the players who featured were over-hyped as super stars but their inexperience and lack of tactical discipline were all too apparent. These contributed in large measure to the shoddy performances we witnessed and the inability of the team to even win bronze. So it is very important that experienced stars such as Sulley Muntari, John Mensah, and Michael Essien are drafted in the squad for the World Cup Qualifiers. Their experience can come in handy for our young talents such as Atsu, Asante and Yiadom Boakye who I believe can play a key role in ensuring we get the goals. It will also help if players like Abdul Majid Warris and a few others who couldn't make it to South Africa are given a second chance in place of those whose performances were not up to scratch. The coaches too have to learn some new ideas fast in terms of strategies. The potential is still there. What is needed is good guidance, wherever it may come from.

THANK YOU, MR. AMPOMAH, AT LEAST YOU UNDERSTAND THE GAME OF FOOTBALL. IT PAINS ME THAT SOME GHANAIAN SOCCER FANS DO NOT WANT TO FACE FACTS. GFA CAN EMPLOY MAURINHO, GUARDIOLA, WENGER OR WHOEVER, BUT THAT CANNOT GUARANTEE A SURE WIN OF THE TROPHY. THE REASON IS THAT THOSE WOLD-CLCASS COACHES HANDLE THE TOP TEAMS YET SOMETIMES THEY LOSE MATCHES. BRAZIL HAS BEEN LOSING MATCHES, ENGLAND, GERMANY, FRANCE, ITALY....THEY ALL LOSE MATCHES.
I HOPE THE GFA LISTENS TO GOOD SUGGESTIONS FROM NOW ON THEREFORE I WOULD ADD MINE.
1. THE TECHNICAL TEAM MUST INCLUDE FORMER PLAYERS LIKE OSEI KOFI, DAN OWUSU, POLO, KLUTSE, RAZAK, ETC. THOSE MEN I SAW SITTING ON THE BENCH NEXT TO THE COACHES IN SOUTH AFRICA LOOKED LIKE SOME TIRED FISHERMEN.
2. THE GFA ITSELF SHOULD ALSO INCLUDE SUCH RENOWNED SOCCER PLAYERS.
3. THE COACH MUST CONSIDER CHANGING OUR STYLE OF PLAY BY ADOPTING THE ORIGINAL BRAZIL OR NOW SPAIN MAN-MAN PASSES. THE REASON IS THAT WE DDO NOT HAVE TALL PLAYERS WHO CAN DEAL WITH HIGH BALLS.
4. THE COACH MUST DEDICATE 75% OF HIS TIME WORKING ON THE ATTACKING LINE. WE MUST HAVE AT LEAST 7 GOAL SCORERS LIKE THE IVORY COAST AND NIGERIA. WE CAN NO LONGER DEPEND ON A SOLE STRIKER AS WE NOW HAVE IN ASAMOAH DJAN. YEARS AGO, AND COACH APPIAH KNOWS THAT POLO, RAZAK, OWUSU, KLUTSE, ABEDI, ANAS, YEBOAH, ABBREY, ETC WERE ALL GOAL SCORERS, AND THERE WAS NEVER A TIME WHEN GHANA DEPENDED ON A LONE STRIKER.
5. FOR THE SAKE OF 2014, THE GFA SHOULD THINK ABOUT PLAYERS LIKE DOMINIC ODURO. HE IS AS GOOD AS ANY OF THE CURRENT PLAYERS, BUT ODUROS'S HOBBY IS GOAL SCORING. THE IDEA THAT THE USA LEAGUE IS BELOW STANDARD IS FALSE, AND WE MUST FACE FACTS IF WE ARE THINKING OF BRAZIL 2014.

Akwasi Appiah had been given this opportunity for 11years; is time for him to move on, for Konadu to have this chance to enhance his success as a coach, with compliments to what he achieved with with Ashanti Kotoko.
Milo given the chance once more, would be a wise thing to do now; he knows the Ghanaian style of play, and with players now at hand, one would think with the little twist, our team can be well equipped to face any team for the WC.
