The players must be given guidelines such as: experience, age, leadership qualities such as an ability to inspire, temperance, and they must be seen to be firm, but friendly and fair. Let the process begin.

Sounds fair, but we all hope the authorities read this forum and get some ideas; or we are just wasting our time.

And even in the senior team, have they observed how this young lad exudes enthusiasm and inspiration for all the team? Asamoah Gyan is not a leader, period!!! Where was he when the match against Burkina Faso got into extra time? Was it not John Painstil who was rather urging the team on? And the penalty shootout, that was a clear indication of his lack of courage and leadership. "Yes, your name is Berko, so when we seek you, we are to find you in the thick of battle not where the women are playing their "Ampe"". Gyan disappeared on the pitch in crucial times, refused to lead or inspire and was abominable. A complete failure at leadership. He is just a show man. Being a captain does not make one to have Automatic Starting Shirt. A captain can even motivate his Team from the Bench (John Terry, Steven Gerrard). Captaincy comes with sense of maturity.
