Desailly could be a very good candidate to coach the blackstars with his experience as a player. He won World , European and Confederations Cups in 1998, 2000 and 2001 as a France international.

It's not only the lost in the AFAC but his communication skills were below the standard of a National Coach; he probably did realize that in the early months in his assignment but then, the damage had already been done. The pride was too great for a correction, hence, the difficulties to manage his responsibilities.
Mr Appiah would be a BEST coach if given the chance; he needs to understudy from a National Coach.

The Manchester City midfielder Yaya Touré has been named the 2011 African footballer of the year.

The Ivory Coast international has established himself as a key player in the City team since arriving at the club from Barcelona in 2010.

Touré scored the winner in City's FA Cup semi-final victory over Manchester United and in the final against Stoke, ending the club's 35-year wait for a major trophy. His displays this season have also helped Roberto Mancini's side to the top of the Premier League.

A statement on the Confederation of African Football's official website read: "The 28-year-old pipped Ghanaian midfielder Andre Ayew and Malian Seydou Keita to scoop the top-most honour at the awards gala on Thursday at the Banquet Hall, State House in Accra."

Touré is only the second Ivorian to win the award since its inception in 1992, following in the footsteps of the Chelsea striker Didier Drogba.

The award was voted for by the head coaches of the national teams in Africa.

He played locally for Kotoko and captained Blackstars, something Desaily did not do but turne3d his back on Blackstars and played for France. Where is his patriotism? Let him go and get experience coaching even second division team in France and then we can evaluate his coaching ability if he is good enough to Coach Blackstars. So far he has not even coached a COLTS team let alone the Blackstars team. Ghanaians arestill mentally enslaved thinking that anything that comes from Europe or America even without record is better than anything African. I don't subscribe to that dumb theory. Desailly might turn up to be a good Coach but Blackstars is too big a team for him to se as his coaching practicals.

We are not selecting a player but a coach. I will rather have Polo, Razak and Coach Tetteh as the Blackstars Coach than Desailly.

Anyway, at the moment, the Black Stars coaching job shouldn't be given to him for we are trying to install some discipline into the Ayews. If we allow Desailly to take over the job at this time things will be worse. I say that because Desailly will invite the Ayews who haven't learnt anything so far. 'm sorry but this is not the time to bring in Desailly. Besides, the opportunities were placed into his hands three times; on the contrary, he stepped on them by placing this same opportunity under the soles of his feet. Desailly and the Ayews are close friends due to the relationship between the Ayews' father, Abedi Pele, and Desailly and there shouldn't be any impression or any thought at the back of our minds as he is the one behind all these Ayews' attitude toward Kwasi Appiah. If you want to know what I said about Asamoah Gyan and the both tournaments you mentioned, I will advise you to go back and read. Everything is still there black and white. Therefore, I rather plead with you to go back to 2010 AFCON and after the WC tournaments and read all my inputs there concerning Asamoah Gyan. From there you will recognize my comments. Sammy Kufour was indirectly insulting Kwasi Appiah and his coahing stuff, and on top of it, was insulting the players without knowing it, and you took that as a good statement to repeat it? Bravo!!! Kindly allow me to educate you by helping you to recognize the moment of secret in this statement. Here is the revelation to you. A half fit Dede is better than who? Can you point out to your readers who this particular player may have been? Remember, we are talking about reality in here. There is no idiomatic expression attached to this insane comment. Now here is an example to draw you back to the light since something is preventing you to see clearer.

Even with the way Stephen Appiah plays now, which is half-fit of how he, Stephen Appiah, used to play, half fit of Andrea Ayew couldn't be compered to that. So you see, Kpakpo, you are constantly repeating an insult you, unfortunately, picked from a player who practically disgraced himself and his country on a world's platform by given a back pass at the 2006 WC without looking who was there to intercept. Tuga has the nerve to insult any player in the Black Stars whilst he demonstrated the most stupid football mistake in our Ghanaian football history and you are following suit. What would be your classification then? Think about it.

Now back to the point. Whether Dede's half-fit would have been better than any of the players in 2013 squad or not, was irrelevant. The reason is, no one took out Dede from the squad but with the fact that he took him self out. Do you recall, he was included in the initial squad but his brother, Jordan, wasn't. Let me go through this with you so that you wouldn't bring such topic into our argument anymore for I'm loving this debate.

Dede already made his case as he wasn't fit. Why did I say that? According to the player and his club, he picked up an injury whilst training with his club. No one doubted his message sent to GFA. However, the rule was if one is not fit, he shouldn't be allowed to accompany the squad to South Africa. If Dede said he was hurt, he already disqualified himself. On the other hand, since GFA and the coach wanted him in the squad no matter what, they requested for him to came for a check-up. If he wanted to be part of the squad so badly, when the chance was given to him to report, even with an extension given to do so, he would have reported for the medical stuff in the national team to access his injury. Did the player report as requested by GFA, Kpakpo? What do you call that? Therefore, why blaming anyone of Dede's exclusion from the squad? Here too, bro, you are not making sense. Unless you have any other version to this story, please let it go.

Kpakpo my son, you see, this is why I say, you haven't been following my comments for long. If you really know me, you would have known that I advocated for Borbor whom most don't know as Selas Tetteh. When Nyantekyi and co. described Sellas as incompetent (borrowed from Nyantekyi) to handle the Black Stars at that time, I questioned GFA's standard, rule, or its test on which their judgment or decision of labeling Sellas as "not ready" was based on. I debated on that on this forum for months.

You see, when you have no clue on issues just ask and there are others here who could walk you through for understanding to take place. Like is says in Proverbs, "Get Wisdom Get understanding." Here is the tip. GFA wasn't ready to give the Black Stars coaching position to any local coach except Desailly. When time was approaching, Desailly came out to public with his turning down speech as he was not ready for the job. How many times has he been interested in this same job and how many times have you read from him as not ready for it? When things are going well to hand the post to Desailly, he comes out and let us down? On the contrary, as soon as he hears the country going through changes then here he comes claiming being interested in the job. How long is he going to do that?

After Desailly turned down the offer and GFA didn't want to give the job to any local coach, that was when the channel was tuned to Plavi and the Local National Team was given to Sellas Tetteh to fully handle it and to gain experience.

Yes, I didn't like it too; I advocated on his behalf but he, eventually, took the Botswana Head Coaching job. When he decided to come back, Kwasi Appiah had already been made the head coach of the Black Stars.

Child, you have to notice something in this world we leave in. Patience pays when you endure the hardship. If Borbor was in Ghana by the time Plavi left office, I don't think Kwasi Appiah would have been made the national head coach. Borbor would have gotten that job because when people began to advocate for a local coach, which I was against it, he was the only one whom I thought was qualified.

So you see, you fell short. Whatever you thought of me concerning this subject has turned out to be the opposite. Are you surprised? Don't be for I have been following the game for long.

As of now, Dessailly has a zero coaching sheet.
I would opt for MRAA anytime for my club. Cuz, he's been a coach of the GBS, been there, done there.
One would have taken the risk if Dessailly is made a coach of Betom Stars.
For quite sometime, the two greatest clubs in Ghana, Kotoko and Hearts had no coaches.
One would have thought Dessailly would appear on the scene to vie for any of them. But woefully shirked that responsibility. Dessailly wants the ultimate post but it doesn't work that way. Crawl from the bottom up the ladder.
To coach the almighty GBS, one must coach real players in the real clubs.
MRAA had been with the GBS for close to so many years. He deserve to be where he is now.

What I want from you is the truth about both men in terms of coaching.
Desailly has not coached any team and you know it.
MRAA has coached a whole country's national team, at least for a year.

How do you compare both men when they possess unequal resume?

I could see that you prefer Desailly for his intercontinental football prowess, believing that, he could be a good/successful coach. But that is only an assumption from you. It carries no logic.

Not too many good players have turned out as good coaches. Can you tell me one or two players that have defied my assertion above?

In the coaching and football business, confidence is very important. When I look at our idiot on the bench during matches, there is no hope. He is too timid to be a coach. If we need Kevin Prince-Boateng and the Ayew brothers, so be it. John Paintsill should be disciplined. He nearly killed his wife. It should not be swept under the carpet. If he was patronising prostitutes in South Africa, he should be suspended for a while. Many of these boys are too short and too old anyway. They lack the finesse and appear to be suffering from fatigue. They are not good in shooting on target. This is why we often lose out during penalty shoot outs. Practise, practise, practise. We need fresh input.

Everyone of us, I mean everybody, one time or the other in this station of life, have had to start a new venture as a novice and had become proficient in their field of endeavour as the years wears on.
Ask the virgin-girl how she did cope with the first time and about the latter years. Haaaa
MRAA, definitely, will improve given the much needed 'twin support' quality players and independence, solely calling the shots.

Let me remind you, its been thirty-something lousy years that have lapsed into disappointments, and still counting, TeamGhana has been denied ever getting close to winning that august trophy.

During the transition, men and women, both young and old have gone down their needs doing the NBS- "Nyame Boame Soccer" jamborees.
